"Ya, it's time to be honest about Islam..."

And risk of being called a xenophobe and racist?

We didn't need to be told that YJ, Gh already did.

It was as predictable as the sun rising in the am.

Oh yes.....so much better to keep ones mouth shut and just watch the xenophobes and racists have their way....... watch once again as the superior rids the world of the inferior.

Can't happen? Won't happen? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

CDN bear, what’s up with all the hate? It’s clear you don’t know anything about Islam
You need to educate yourself about Islam, Islam is a beautiful religion it’s a complete way of life
How can a religion that orders its followers to worship only God, to pray 5 times a day, to fast during the month of Ramadan, to pay the poor tax, to do lots of good deeds be an evil religion?
Allah says in the Quran

Allah has promised those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, that for them there is forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise)"(Quran)

"Then, as for those who believed and did righteous good deeds, their Lord will admit them to His Mercy. That will be the evident success."(Quran)

"Truly, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be an endless reward that will never stop" (Quran)

And there are many more verses like that in the Quran

I try to live my life according to the teachings of Islam, am not perfect, I have my weaknesses
But I do know what Islam requires of me, and that is that I be the best person I can be
Islam brings the best out of me. Am blessed and proud to be a Muslim
You need to stop believing everything the media tells you about Islam. There are more than one billion Muslims, majority of them being good people
Stop being hateful.

I've read the Quran, as I've read the Torah, as I've read the Bible. I'm not impressed with any of them. None is anymore right or wrong then the other, but I'm sure that won't stop you from making anymore assumptions about me eh.

How can a religion that orders its followers to worship only God, to pray 5 times a day, to fast during the month of Ramadan, to pay the poor tax, to do lots of good deeds, and if you don't, be murdered for it,be an evil religion?
fify.

You need to stop believing everything the media tells you about Islam.
Actually, I don't believe what the media tells me about Islam, I don't watch mainstream news. I go by the facts. Shall I post the images? The video's?

There are more than one billion Muslims, majority of them being good people
There are billions if not trillions of mosquitos that never see a human, nor cause him to itch. That hasn't stopped us from producing a litany of repellents.

Stop being hateful.
Stop being stupid.

I have a few quotes, too.

Those who rebel by choosing this life over the next will go to hell. 79:37-39
So we should live in the fantasy of the future, not the reality of now. Interesting.

Disbelievers are wicked people. On the last day they will be in darkness and have dust on their faces. 80:40-42
Oh, yeah. We dreaded atheists always doing evil. DANGER! WARNING! BEWARE!

Oh, here's a nice one from a merciful god: Allah plots against non-Muslims. 86:16 You're all toast you Christians, Buddhists, Taoists, Jews, pagans.

Allah is the creator of evil. We must try to avoid Allah's evil creations. 113:1-2 8O

The doom is coming soon. 75:35 Wait! Wasn't this written hundreds of centuries ago? How soon is soon?

You don't have to be chaste around your wives or your slave girls. 70:29-30 8O Slaves? It's ok to fool around with your slaves? Wouldn't all your wives object to that?

Muhammad's wives need to be careful. If they criticize their husband, Allah will replace them with better ones. 66:5 Nice. Hey, Mu, that tie doesn't go with that suit. BOOT!

Allah seals the hearts of those who believe and then disbelieve so that they can understand nothing. 63:3 Funny. I understood that.

My wife claims that religion is just organized belief. Like organized crime perhaps?
One of the advantages(I think) of not believing in any god is that one can stand back and pick holes in all of them. I simply cannot fathom how so many otherwise rational people can get their knickers in a knot when someone criticizes their belief in something none of them have never seen but claim is right and all others in the same boat are false.

Well you clearly have a lot to learn

Why do i have to defend my beliefs when causing no harm
Why do i have to read insulting posts from those that have none.

Why do I believe in a Creator -

Simple - In all this wondrous universe I believe a Creator has a hand in it - You choose not to believe - I chose to believe.

And to you that is intolerable - To me your outlook on those that do not cause harm, willing to help anyone regardless of whether they believe or not is disgusting to say the least.

Neither of us can prove or disprove that I am right or wrong. That is fine with me.

But when you criticize someone that does no harm, take a look at your own moral code and where it came from. I wonder where your code of morals was derived from, please enlighten us, the great unwashed, the ones who believe in a Creator - I am waiting.
But to insult and denigrate a persons religious beliefs when they cause no harm shows a level of immaturity, a level of understanding, a level of intolerance.

Yep, VERY- in the aspects of it that affect me. For one thing 95% of us can read and probably 99% know where they can put their hands on a Bible. So I don't need some A$$HOLE delivering fire and brimstone as he shouts the verses of the Bible at me. Generally an A$$hole who doesn't have an idea of his own.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

And I think the ones I see peddling this "Watchtower" around the neighbourhood every Saturday have sure got their nerve. Just how long can a person tell someone to F. Off politely?

I'm going to jump in here Goober. It's not religion in most cases that is being criticised, it's those who try to interpret it for others. Like you I believe in a creator. But I don't need some one to tell me to do this and this and that, and not to do this and this and that, otherwise I'm going to Hell. If people would just mind their own business!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually Gh, when I read the Bible and the Torah, I was at a cross roads in life, a low point, trying to find a path, a light to follow. Not to mention, I had a lot of time on my hands.

The day I joined CC I had just recently received a copy of the Quran. I actually joined, because as I was lurking on the outside, I saw someone post about Islam. I came into to challenge them because they were misquoting the Quran. I didn't have to Google the Quran, or go and buy one, it was given to me by a friend, a Muslim.

The feelings I now express about Islam Gh, weren't there when I first joined CC. They were formulated by endless acts of inhumanity, the reading of the Quran and then watching Muslims that have come here and touted it as the only way, or death. All this while I worked with a group for PTSD, which brought other feelings to the surface.

So no Gh, I didn't read any of them with a closed mind. But since you're a psychic can I have Fridays Lotto Max numbers please.

Now, would care to debate the topic, or would you prefer to debate me instead. I'm up for both. Either or, but it if it's not to challenging for you, could you offer more then single sentence replies, based on what you think, as apposed to can be proven...thanx.

On a similar, I read this sharp tid bit, by Rex Murphy, this morning. Well said and quite poignant.

Islam has a voracious appetite for tolerance when it is the suppliant; when it is, so to speak, a sojourner among the infidels. It is aggressively, even imaginatively, vigorous in availing of the democratic rights of societies to which some of its followers have migrated. It has acquired an admirable expertise in taking advantage of the institutions and practices of host societies, from politics and the media, to protests and the courts, which aid the full pursuit of those rights.

.... Hence the need to separate church and state, and therein lies a bit of a problem for Islam. In Islam the church IS the state, and the state is the church, no separation is possible as Islam is presently constituted.

Wow! somebody should tell that to the 1-7 million Muslims (depending on who you ask) that are living in North America. Perhaps you should do a little research before you post such things.

Perhaps you should try to understand what's actually being said. Read the Quran. It's quite explicitly stated there that the institutions of the church and the state are the same. And then ask yourself what those 1-7 million Muslims would do if they were a majority.

That would be a rather silly thing to ask myself. By asking it, it would imply that I think the 1-7 million Muslims all want the same thing. I'll leave notions like that to those of lesser intellect.

I have read the Quran....as have many (if not most) Muslims in Indonesia and many (if not most) Muslims in Abu Dhabi, not to mention Kosovo. That is why societies like those found in Indonesia, the Emirates and Kosovo mirror each other so closely don't ya know!

"Secularism cannot be a solution for countries with a Muslim majority or even a sizeable minority, for it requires people to replace their God-given beliefs with an entirely different set of man-made beliefs. Separation of religion and state is not an option for Muslims because is requires us to abandon Allah's decree for that of a man."

Separation Of Church And State (Islaam.Com)

And maybe while you're studying that, you could consider the virtues of trying to disagree with someone without insulting their intelligence.

Suggesting that all Muslims (all blacks, all Christians or all Canadians for that matter) think a certain way is so ridiculous it needs to be pointed out. When one says something that isn't so mind-numbingly stupid they generally don't have to have their intelligence insulted (at least not by me). Besides, I'm not insulting your intelligence, I'm questioning it.

I think you should check both the title of the thread and the name of the subject. It's Islam. I mean, i wouldn't want to question your ability to read.

Can you please point out a country, in which Islam is the state religion, where we don't see human rights abuses, stifling, if not out right annihilation of other religions, and so on?
