Saudi Arabia's laws look harsh but don't forget in the western world we've put innocent people in jail 20 years to life, or even sentenced to death, because of our careless judicial system. Also the enormous amount of non-violent drug users thrown in jail for simple possession.
We're far from benevolent here as well.

Ohh please, you cannot even begin to compare the injustices of the Canadian system compared to Saudi Arabia. The difference being, if someone is unjustly incarcerated here, they're still alive afterwards unlike Saudi Arabia where you are dead.
