Yep, that would be very effective as far as reducing theft is concerned but it may not be so effective at reducing welfare rolls and E.R. line ups. I'm more in favour of doing the minimum necessary to get a person to change behaviour. :smile:

That's false. Taliban have implemented a much stricter law than ever seen in the Muslim world, many Muslims wouldn't want to live under their rule.

I don't doubt the Taliban have their supporters, but not to the extent that Kreskin believes.

Saudi Arabia is moderate in comparison with the Taliban.

Saudi Arabia's laws look harsh but don't forget in the western world we've put innocent people in jail 20 years to life, or even sentenced to death, because of our careless judicial system. Also the enormous amount of non-violent drug users thrown in jail for simple possession.
We're far from benevolent here as well.
