We went to see Robin Hood tonight. It's a great show. Not the usual Robin Hood junk but a real show. There was no babble about Robin and his Merry Men. It actually bears no resemblance to any other version I have ever seen. Go watch it. No swearing, no sex, no nudity. They actually have dialogue. Theatre was full - we had to sit 6 rows from the front. I'm a back seat person at the movies but tonight we had to take what we could.

lmao I saw that, too. First time I ever saw an arrow fly dead straight. Maybe Costner doesn't know about gravity making things like bullets and arrows arc toward the ground. lol
I think Crowe does very well with period action movies. Gladiator was awesome, as was Master And Commander.

BTW, Blackleaf, Crowe is a Kiwi. He only lives in Oz now..

you mean he was born a fruit?

For shame, Anna. I thought by now you would realize that my post meant I was in full agreement with Icarus. Half of what I post is tongue in cheek, I just don't bother with a smiley face to help out those who don't get it.
Excuse me if I don't pore over each and every one of your posts in order to profile you.

I just knew 'these two' would pull off a great robin hood,
superb actor/actress, and I'm glad to hear the results,
can't to wait to see it, but will probably wait for DVD

It doesn't bother me. Many times I have almost responded to a post and suddenly realized that the poster was not the least bit serious. Sometimes the tongue is completely hidden in the cheek.

Is Canada just now seeing this version of Robin Hood? I have the dusty DVD in my collection, it was a refreshing and entertaining version but Hollywood is not known for paying much attention to facts. At least every other word was not a curse word, the violence was not gratuitous, and it was a real "story" that did not have mythical creatures running around as in Pirates of the Caribbean. I enjoyed it that they conned me into thinking this version might be perhaps plausable is just a ploy of good fiction like Jurassic Park. Pure entertainment and little that is produced by Hollywood these days is worth watching I really found no political message which would have made me gag.

Up until 55 minutes ago this thread has been dead for almost three years.

So the real question is are you just seeing this thread?

Yes, up until today I had logged out of this site months ago and suddenly
there was a message, so I recovered a password and suppose It was a mistake
to do that. I did not look at the date just responded - sorry. Did not
intentionally set out to insult Canadians, without looking at the dates I
was just amazed as it seemed as though Canadians were only now seeing this
film - Ok I am dumb please don't attack me, I apologize profusely and
intended no harm honestly. I am guilty of not being very observant. I just
saw a couple of threads on this and did not even think about them being
old. I suppose If that is not enough I will log out and delete this site
from my favorites list again.

Actually I just learned that if you mix Old New Orleans spiced Rum with Dr. Pepper it's really good - a new favorite over ice. I do sail, my wee yacht is a 1967 Morgan 24. Had her out heeled at 40 degrees more or less. was having fun until one of the spreaders came off and was clanging about aloft. turned for home and climbed up on my 16' extension ladder with a hammer to re-install it, will have to do it again to install some small bolts just one per spreader should do it along with tuning my shrouds!
