Very true, but that's a very strong opinion you have there.Of course I am, that what you get in a free and open secular society. Which is why Islam should never be allowed to take a hold in North America.
I, too, absolutely love free and open society. Freedom is definitely a right that I like to have. But it's hard to form a firm opinion on this because it's contradictory. You bet it's conflicting. The irony in the fact that I adore my free and open society, while opining that we exclude a position of it, is not only contradictory, but hypocritical.
Canada's been negotiating different issues for years, why not negotiate with the Muslims? In the past, we've had issues between the people and the Roman Catholic Church, and we've managed to work out something. Why should it be different now?I'm open to suggestions.
Yes, experiencing other cultures is fun And yes, we should protect what we have for those of the future. It not only helps the outlook of our Canadian society, but it also helps Canadians have a sense of what it is to be Canadian.I agree, I absolutely love being able to experience everything from Greek culture to Laotian, in an afternoons drive. But I'm to give up a small portion of my humanity, to protect what we have for future generations.
Amen to that.Let freedom of speech reign.
I concur. But I can guarantee you, I didn't come to it easily, nor did I come to it over night.Very true, but that's a very strong opinion you have there.
I'm used to making hard decisions.I, too, absolutely love free and open society. Freedom is definitely a right that I like to have. But it's hard to form a firm opinion on this because it's contradictory.
Well to be factual, the British relegated the Roman Catholic Church to second class citizenship for many years.Canada's been negotiating different issues for years, why not negotiate with the Muslims? Absolutely.Yes, experiencing other cultures is fun And yes, we should protect what we have for those of the future. It not only helps the outlook of our Canadian society, but it also helps Canadians have a sense of what it is to be Canadian.
I would hope not! Just curious though, what brought you to think like so?I concur. But I can guarantee you, I didn't come to it easily, nor did I come to it over night.
I praise you. I'm indecisive and making hard decisions is something I have yet to face.I'm used to making hard decisions.
True. I actually forgot about that little tidbit. Still, I'm sure we can work something out.Well to be factual, the British relegated the Roman Catholic Church to second class citizenship for many years.
True as it may be, I was born in UAE but i'm actually Catholic (though, I have way too many questions and other opinions that probably aren't well suited with my religion). Hey, no problem. I do what I can. Plus, I'm still a new member, I have to give myself a good impression, yes?Absolutely.
Ok, I will admit, I checked out your profile, and I noticed you indicated UAE as your home town. I deduced that you might be Muslim and was prepared for a heated debate. Instead I found a reason rebuttal, thank you, whether you're Muslim or not.
I will address your post in a second, I have to deal with the myth and misconceptions spewed by the post above yours.I would hope not!
OK, time for a Canadian history lesson...THe first settlers are the ONE AND ONLY CANADIANS- the word comes from ACADIAN of which I am.......................................... the acadians are the only canadians!!!
I was deployed to Bosnia during the crisis there. I was assigned to one the safe havens in Srebrenica. I had close dealings with Muslims I was trying to protect from being slaughered. I also had an interesting interaction with a Muslim militia officer, who introduced me to fear.I would hope not! Just curious though, what brought you to think like so?
I was an NCO in the Canadian Armed Forces. I have own my own businesses, making hard decisions comes easy now, lol. Although at times I wish I didn't have to.I praise you. I'm indecisive and making hard decisions is something I have yet to face.
Despite the finality of my tone, I would hope so.True. I actually forgot about that little tidbit. Still, I'm sure we can work something out.
Quite true, you've done an excellent job. And welcome aboard.True as it may be, I was born in UAE but i'm actually Catholic (though, I have way too many questions and other opinions that probably aren't well suited with my religion). No problem, I might actually take a little longer to reply because I'm still in school at the moment.Ok, sorry for my distraction, I hate it when people mess with history, especially a history so rich as one that involves my people.
Wow, that's a lot to be put through. I can't say that I fully understand without having gone through it myself, but I can understand why you would feel like so. Plus, my level of respect for you just grew respectably.I was deployed to Bosnia during the crisis there. I was assigned to one the safe havens in Srebrenica. I had close dealings with Muslims I was trying to protect from being slaughered. I also had an interesting interaction with a Muslim militia officer, who introduced me to fear.
Well well, I wasn't expecting that!I was an NCO in the Canadian Armed Forces. I have own my own businesses, making hard decisions comes easy now, lol. Although at times I wish I didn't have to.

i cannot see anyone here like him/her agreeing with even every ridiculousness of you.
come on , don't be so sensitive just because a muslim-granpa(who is an old and war-suffered woman) spat at you.
thanks to god ,you were not a muslim in Palestine or you would be a nightmare of all innocent Jews.

OK, time for a Canadian history lesson...
Canada, was a name bastardized by Jaques Cartier in 1535, when the village of Stadacona was pointed out to him. In Iroquoian, or as we prefer, Haudenosaunee, the word Kanata was used to indicate the village.
Cartier would later use the word to indicate the village and the surrounding area under Chief Donnacona as Canada. After awhile, it just sort of stuck. Consider it one small part of my peoples contributions to the founding of a nation.
And of course this is all verifiable in a numerous Canadian repositories of historical facts.
I hope that erases any erroneous misconceptions you had the origin of the name Canada.
