That means that is as close as I have come to knowing a crime was taking place, now go stand in the corner ans say 500 "Hail, Mary's"

Here's your statement again:

I have been privy to and almost a victim of this very thing by an official of The United Church of Canada.

Did you or did you not report the abuse that you were privy to, to the proper authorities so that an investigation could be started?

I know that the RC Church is not the only one that has this problem nor are they the only ones covering it up. But right now they are in the limelight and the road will be bumpy. It is time they take responsibility for their actions and practice what they preach. I was brought up RC but lost respect for the church quite a while ago before all this mess started.

Just another step in the continual long decline of the Roman Catholic Church. In 1400 it was the only church in Western Europe. Today even most Italians don't go to church and the church is desperate for new priests worldwide. This is just one more nail in the coffin.

Wow, thats a lot of child molesters...

That's low ... even for you

The pope seems to support it.

A Cardinal acted in his church's interest. Now, he's the boss.

Off topic, but how is protecting molesters acting in anyone's interest??

Now, it's on topic....

It acts in the Church's interest. How that works for people isn't something I can answer.

It certainly doesn't work for me.

thanks for redirecting the topic...

I think he should answer for it ... just the same as I think bad cops should have to answer for their crap and politicians should for theirs. Will they? Not without long and very expensive battles. People eat tuna and Maple Leaf meats. They drive Fords and they'll drive Toyotas too. Liberals get re-elected once people have got over it. Conservatives get re-elected once people have got over it. The church will be embarrassed. It may even go: sorry about that. The little guy? We're always the first to understand that shyte rolls downhill....

Do you know someone who used to be adamant Liberal? The Catholic Church.

Maybe there was a reason they dumped the party.....

Now see? from theological to political, look, I can not express the anger I feel for these wasted idiots that have taken the theological road, the righteous
road while their minds are so bend and have hurt innocent life’s. And continue to hurt young innocent life’s. they are sick, me making a joke maybe wrong, but anger is the cause. The Liberals have nothing to do with that, so political opportunity for character assassination is wrong too. This is the only way for me to vent my anger. Not fair. I understand making jocks about something as such is wrong, as I said it is anger driven.:-(

No doubt there are many thousands of people out in the world who feel horribly betrayed right now. To some, it would be like reaching a ripe age only to realize there really isn't a Santa and Mom was a callgirl. I wonder how the priest who is judged by the sins of they before him must feel.

That's wonderful...except.... it is a small percentage of the priesthood that is actually the problem.

Hi Gerryh, if we total up the global number of sexual abuse in the theological circle the number is bigger then that of what it shows. Especially looking at the news that Benedict new and turned a blind eye. Sad day for Theology on planet Earth, and worse day for the ones that were abused and no one paid attention.:-(

again, it was a small percentage of the Priesthood. Tarring the entire Priesthood, or like the other ignorant bastard in here, tarring the entire Roman Catholic Church and it's members is ignorant in the least.
