Indeed this has been going on since Biblical times, when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because he didn't like what people were doing there.

But then it has always been a puzzle to me why he has not already destroyed Canada. Surely Canada, with legalized abortion, legalized gay marriage and so on, has to be worse than Sodom and Gomorrah? Or is the influence of the religious right keeping Canada alive?

There is no god in the entire universe but only God Almighty the Creator: One God without associate.

This Creator, glory be to Him, has many names which different peoples call Him with in their different languages.

Other gods are false, have no realities but only names and stones or material objects and beings; only names without real existence; while God Almighty is the True One.

The One God is the God from the start of the humanity and before them; He sent His envoys to teach people His commandments and that they should not associate anyone else with Him and that there will be the next afterlife.

These idols of the idolaters: they consider them mediaters or small gods in comparison to the Great Creator, and the idolaters know God is the Lord of the heavens, and their idols are near to them on Earth; so this is the association with God Almighty: the Creator which demands God will send them a new apostle when every generation will fall in this idolatry and association.

So there are many false gods together with the True God the Creator recognized by the idolaters.

This is obvious, but some people here try to ignore it. The many gods are the patrons of the associaters and idolaters, and this is the plea of the associaters: they claim:
"These patron saints intercede to God for us.
We can take our special needs to them and know they will listen to our prayers, and pray to God with us."

They claim that God is so Great, but they can talk and swear by these patrons (to whom they will draw pictures and erect statues); and they claim also that God is far from them in heaven, while these patrons and minor gods are near to them on earth.

I like them all. Some more than others. The mean ones like Allah, Yahweh, Hades, etc. not so much. Ones like Aphrodite, Sappho, and Tailtiu are awesome. :) I don't worship any, though. That's a waste of time.

Oh, I quite agree. There is only one true God, and that is the God of Applism. God of Applism is the only true God. He has only one Commandment (thou shalt eat an apple a day). And how do I know that? Why, he himself told me, so it has to be true.

So, may I give you Da'wah to convert you to Applism?

The Creator. The Great Mystery. The Great Unknown. There were many different people living in the Americas with many different languages. But most had names that translated to Creator, Great Mystery, Great Unknown.

The difference between Christianity/Islam/Judaism and polytheism is that in the Abrahamic religions various angels and demons are not referred to as gods in their pantheons.

That may well be, Spade. It has always been my theory that Hinduism is the originator of all the major religions. It is the oldest religion, it is the granddaddy of all religions. It may well be that the millions of Gods in Hinduism(which are really form of only one God, at its heart, Hinduism is a monotheistic religion) became angels in subsequent religions. The Danavas became the demons.

My personal belief is that all religions are OK as long as it's followers don't advocate harming other people and don't try to push their views on other people or faiths...I figure that if someone's belief doesn't infringe upon my own it doesn't bother me unless they try to ridicule other beliefs.

And what is wrong in ridiculing other beliefs? We live in a free country, I can ridicule anybody's beliefs I want (in fact, I do that many times).

You sound like the Muslims who rioted (and killed some of their fellow Muslims in the riots) because the Danish newspaper published Mohammed cartoons and supposedly ridiculed their religious beliefs.

In a free country, in a democracy, one is free to ridicule any beliefs he wants.

Therefore nothing. She is pretty certain it is pointless to idolize anything and "her people" are all individuals with minds of their own and wills of their own to determine for themselves what they want to believe.
Besides that there is no evidence that there are not many gods. You and anyone else that believes in gods have nothing except words to show the existence of gods and words are extremely plentiful and cheap. Also, you idolize your god, so there is no difference between you and Christians, Jews, Jainists, etc. because you all idolize a single god.
There is absolutely no evidence to support the existence of any gods. All you have is words and that is not evidence. So talk all you want, you cannot supply any evidence.

I never said that it is OK to ridicule someone. I said it is OK to ridicule religious beliefs, a totally different thing.

It is perfectly OK to ridicule Islam, Christianity, even Atheism. Ridiculing and attacking ideas is perfectly OK, ridiculing, insulting,attacking individuals is not.

Preventing people from criticizing, even ridiculing ideas such as conservatism or Christianity would lead to the worst kind of censorship.

And yes, posts will be reported for insulting or ridiculing individuals.
