Calgary did us a favour tonite by beating Colorado 3-2. Canucks are getting lucky, a sign of good things to come.

I think you're right. WE just have to keep an eye on Calgary as they can be a formidable playoff opponent. But I suppose for that to happen the Canucks are going to have to really tank or Calgary claw their way up to 6th place. Better all around if Calgary ends up about 9th. :lol::lol:

OK, good win for canucks, playoff type game with a very
good team.
Everyone contributed, luongo was superb, has to be against
san jose.
We outplayed them for most of the game, but they began to
put lots of pressure on us in the last period,
ryan johnson scored the winner,a big goal, and his first
of the season, and san jose got
another one to get within one.
Lots of defence toward the end, but we held them off, and
won the game 3-2.



Our next game is with Detroit on Saturday.

Grabner played fine for his first game up.

Canucks over San Jose 3 - 2 . Game wasn't fully decided until the last whistle. The Canucks were missing Samuelson but Kesler and Burrows stepped up their game a bit. The teams were fairly evenly matched and Luongo was the difference.

yeah, if they somehow manage to scratch their way into the
playoffs, I would worry about them, but time is of the
essence now, and they are still quite a few points down
from 8th, and now that detroit is in 8th, they will ramp
up their game to stay there, they are finally healthy,
something they haven't been all year, and whoever has to
play them first, could be bounced out, but I believe that
could happen to any of the top 4 playing any the bottom 4.

Like I said, If the Canucks come up with three or four solid games in a row I might jump back on the bandwagon. (everybody needs a bandwagon;-)) During the play-offs, they will have to have four absolutely solid games in a row in each series if they expect to win the cup.

YOu're a tough taskmaster #Juan, I'll settle for four out of the five- the Oilers SHOULD be the easiest, but they should expect really tough opposition with the other four, but who knows? They could lose to Edmonton too. :lol:

Any team can lose to any team, doesn't really matter where
they are in the standings.

This is a game played by humans, we are first in our division, third in the conference, there are so many
positives with this team, and I am enjoying that aspect
of their game. They are not machines, different things can
cause a different level of play, (especially the other team), we expect so much from them, and poor luongo, I feel
sorry for him, vancouver fans have knit picked him to death,
they are never satisfied, when he isn't great, they whine
and complain about the money he makes, when he is great,
they still pick at him, and wonder why he isn't like that
all the time.
I will never know why any goalie would want to play in
vancouver, 'it is the goalie graveyard'.
Other teams are the same, some not so bad as others, but
teams in the NHL have ups and downs, and some of their
goalies are down more than up, as well as their players,
so lets enjoy this canuck team, it is the best team we have
had for years, and next year it will be even better, with
good young players still improving.
We are going to be in the playoffs, we know that, but don't
seem to be happy enough over that, now we are wondering
how far we will get in those playoffs, move to edmonton,
for a few weeks and see how they feel this year.
It just seems that vancouver fans cannot really relax and
totally enjoy and get behind this team, they are so good,
but not perfect, it is a sports team, there are no guarantees, and if there was, that would take away from
the wonderment and excitement of being a fan.

Overall it was a decent game but not playoff intensity, too many floaters/passengers on both sides.

Almost every game Luongo lets in one or two easy goals. I admit that once in a while Luongo gets in a zone and they can't throw sand by him but is Luongo going to win a cup? I honestly don't know. What I would like to see is some of the consistancy that we pay 7 million a year for. Like I said earlier, If the Canucks can put together four or five wins in a row, I'll jump back on the bandwagon. I think Vancouver's big problem is that win or lose, the fans still fill the seats.

You've forgotten '94 when they went to the 7th game of the 4th round, against N.Y.R. who won the Cup thanks to a puck Linden rang off the goal post.
