well, for all those who want to trash luongo tonight, I'm
on board.

He had a brutal game, all three goals were very weak.

I wonder why vineault left him in, I guess he thought
the team could come back and save the game, but that
was not going to happen.

Very dissapointing, as San Jose won, Calgary won. so we
didn't keep pace tonight.

OK, we play again tomorrow against Anaheim, who lost tonight
against calgary.

I just listened to the post game interview with Luongo, and
to his credit, he totally admitted all three goals were his
fault, and expressed he is having some trouble with
consistency, and will work on his 'mental' game, as it is
not physical problem, but a mental one.

There are many goalies who will 'never' admit their own
mistakes, no matter what happens.

Canucks shooters missed the net, when shooting 21 times tonight, Bieksa missed
the net 7 times, and the power play was poor, so, along with their goalie not
playing well, the team also did nothing to bail him out, as he has done for
them so many times in the past.

The Canucks are not playing with confidence. When Luongo is on his game they are much better. Last night the Canucks seemed desperate to score but they couldn't get a bounce. To Edmonton's credit, they didn't give the Canucks a lot of room. The Oilers had nothing to lose and they showed it.

Can it be true? The Canucks were wholloped by the Oilers who beg to lose so they will end up in last place for the best draught picks!

It was not unreasonable to expect Vancouver to win that game.

Vancouver has won 44, lost 25 and tied 4 and has 92 points

Edmonton has won 24, lost 42 and, tied 7 and has 55 points

I hope the Canucks can get it together for tonight's game against the Ducks.

yes, I hope so too, I am worried about luongo, not mad at
him, just concerned. In all the years I have watched hockey, I don't remember seeing a 'top rated' goalie let
in 3 such bad goals, in half of one game, ever. Don't know how he can do that,
wonder what is going on, after those goals went in, I was
cringing every time the puck got anywhere near him.

The odd bad goal will go in, all of the good goalies do
that, no problem, but last night was much different.

I wonder if that first goal going in rattled him so much
that he was totally stressed out for the next ones that
went in. There is some problem going on with him, hope he
can fix it, (for his sake), and for the (teams sake), not
mine.

Hope Luongo isn't developing a taste for thirty year old Scotch or something now that he"s a millionaire...;-)

Well #Juan, it could be argued that it was Edmonton's turn to win.

One of the announcers thought maybe Luongo was tired. I have to admit that he did not look good on the three goals that got by him. In the game before last there was a goal that I thought he should have stopped as well. He made some great stops in both games so for some reason he is momentarily losing his concentration or something. I suspect that we'll see the backup goalie tonight.

excellent game for canucks tonight, they looked very confident and slick. Grabner had a few chances with all
his speed, and that line is so fast that they drive the
opposition crazy, hope they stay together when demitra
and samuelsson come back.

Nothing wrong with demitra/samuelsson/wellwood line.

Good bounce back for canucks, and a very good game for
raycroft, and puts us 5 ahead of colorado again, as they
won tonight too.

Looks like Anaheim is about done.

Great to see the effort from the second & third lines, the game the Canucks play now is so different from the plodding we saw early in the season.

And Yes Grabner created opportunities galore!

yes, a huge difference, but I guess that is the proper
way teams evolve, steady improvement, nothing ever stays
the same, even when they finally reach their highest level,
that is also not permanent, so while this canuck team continues it's climb to eliteness, lets all enjoy it,
and hope it lasts a long time.
With Gillis at the helm I think canucks will always be a
team to beat for other teams coming into GM Place, he is
just what the doctor ordered.
I see they signed Prab Rai (sp?) today, he has been playing
on the seattle thunderbirds for a while, scored over 40
goals this season. I heard an interview with him today,
and he explained how Ganier and the prospects scout, constantly were in touch with him, following all of his
play, and fitness and diet. Ganier contacted him all the
time and gave him tips and suggestions re: his play, always
helping him get better.
So, that is the way of Gillis, to make this team very deep
and a team that looks after all of their players right
down the line and give them every opportunity to develope
in a positive way so they can make the NHL.

yes, I was watching the game, on and off, along with others,
when I left at one point it was 2-1 for calgary, and islanders didn't seem to be playing very well at all, then
when I came back it was 3-2 islanders, and things were
looking up, and boy I didn't think Sutter could look any
grumpier, but he did.

canucks lost a tough one tonight against san jose. first
period pretty even, second period, all san jose, third
period, all vancouver.

score 4-2 - empty netter.

If playoffs started tonight we would play detroit. 3-6

wow, calgary were beaten today 5-0 by boston.

The Canucks are not going to win many games when they allow the opposition to have 37 shots on their net.
