Canucks had 37 shots on San Jose, and they had 30 shots on
Canucks.

first period, can. 9 san jose 7, second, can. 15 san jose 16,
third period, canucks 13 san jose 7.

I always keep track of 'scoring chances, as a more accurate
account of pressure from one team or the other, shots on
goal are not always a measure of how one team dominated
or didn't dominate over another.

Canucks vs. Coyotes tonight Talloola !!!!!!!!!!!!! What is your prediction? This could be a "watershed" game, if Canucks are going to S.C. finals I think they better win this one. I predict it will go to a shootout whichever team wins.

Well, it looks like I called that one wrong. Canucks were certainly in control about 70% of the time in the first two periods and Hank was the best Canuck on the ice and Burrows was second. Probably the most important win since the win against S.J. a couple of weeks ago.

What has happened to Talloola?

here I am

yeah, phoenix didn't show up for this game, they are a
better team than they played tonight, BUT they play calgary
tomorrow night, so I'm sure they saved their best for them.

henrik still rolling right along, after tonight he is 3
ahead of ovetchkin.

It was very kind of Phoenix to give Henrick that gift goal since he needed it in his race with Ovetchkin.

Canucks in L. A., tonight at 7:30

Colorado lost last night and Calgary won, so now Calgary
is only 2 points behind colorado, and they play each other
soon. Colorado had to depend on their goalie most of the
year, although they do have some great young players too,
and calgary would be nowhere without kiprisoff, and last
night was a good example of that, so when they do play it
will depend on the goalies, and kiprisoff is so dependable,
never lets them down.
We watched them play phoenix last night, and phoenix were
the obvious better team, but kiprisoff stopped almost everything,
and allowed his floundering team to win, he was awsome.

This one will be interesting, Canucks often don't have much success against L.A. in L.A. so a win tonight will be a positive sign.

daniel sedin won't be playing tonight, (back spasms), so
demitra has flown down to L.A. and will play, and lines
have been juggled around somewhat.

Luongo has been very hot and cold(tending to be on the cold side more often than not) since the Olympic break. If he plays like this come playoff time, they will have a short time there. He needs to wake up! The opposing teams don't give a rat's ass that you won a gold medal, so start playing like you're capable of playing!

No Daniel Sedin? Dang. I am 1 point ahead for second place in the hockey pool and he would have helped me out. Back spasms. The bane of many athletes.8O

well, two steps forward and one back again for luongo, he
had a poor game tonight, but our defense group also did,
resulting in giving up 8 goals in 29 shots.
When the games get off to a bad start I notice he seems to
lose his focus, so he will have to work on that, and our
defense made lots of mistakes, and luongo couldn't bale
them out at all, or himself.
We laughed at the goalie last game for allowing henrik to steal
the puck and put it in the open net, well it was done on us tonight,
now whos laughing.

Our offensive game was pretty good, lots of pressure that
didn't result in goals, but they did play OK, and everything
l.a. did seemed to end up in the net.

We did outshoot l.a., but that certainly doesn't explain
how this game went.

Luongo doesn't play tomorrow night, the game was allready
set for Raycroft, so luongo can sit and think about this
one, and stew over it, maybe if he does that enough times
he will be fed up with himself and also the defense core.

I sure hope burrows is going to be OK, he took that shot
in the throat. Henrik got one point, and so did ovetchkin,
so henrik stays 3 points ahead of him in the scoring race.

Tomorrow night in anaheim.

That game should put to bed any thoughts that Vancouver had a ghost of a chance to win a Stanley Cup, or even play for the cup. We can fault Luongo, or we can fault our miserable defense but the Canucks are not going past the first round of the play-offs playing like they did last night.

Emotionally you are right, but statistically (for the benefit of the resident authority) and realistically speaking they can play piss poor for 3 games out of 7 as long as they are perfect for the other four. Don't count them out yet.

yeah, makes one wonder, and yes, our defense, including
luongo is the weak link on the team. Without Mitchell,
and now O'Brian till Sunday, makes a difference, although
albert is getting better, compared to his first few games.
And, as bad as we were, l.a. were good. And they aren't
always that way either, but definitely a very improved
team, with Doughty heading that defense core, they are
solid.

Well Juan, we could look at it this way, we play 'lights
out' at home, so if we keep home ice advantage throughout
the playoffs, and win all of our home games, we win the
conference, but then of course all of the teams below us
in the playoffs will have to win too, to allow us to have
home ice advantage, (wishful thinking) lol

I'm looking forward to this game tonight in Anaheim, last
night is history now, lets forget it.

Talloola you are a born optimist. If Vancouver loses tonight, the situation becomes critical. Phoenix would slip ahead of the Canucks. One win each would put Nashville and Detroit ahead of Vancouver. L.A. would need two wins. If Vancouver loses the rest of their games and Calgary wins the rest of their games, Vancouver will be out of the playoffs.
On the other hand, if Vancouver wins all of their remaining games, they would finish no lower than third place where they are now.

can't see that happening, but it would be nice to get away
from having to play detroit in the first round.
phoenix is allready ahead of canucks, they have 100 pts to our 96

are hanging on by a thread.
