Quite so.....actually.....for some reason.....the word Popinjay comes to mind;-)
Well, appearances are important. But you know what they say, "The only good Democrat is..." - That's a joke. Like you have stated, this place is for a bit of fun and I thought I'd take a shot at it too, even though it is completely out of character for me to do so.
I like to be helpful to everyone whenever the opportunity presents itself, so I will help you get back on topic here by saying that in 30 years, people might be looking back at 2012 and congratulating themselves for electing the first woman President and taking the country a new and productive course for the future.
A course that would be guided by the caring hand of a good mother, the firm hand of an experienced governor, the fair hand of an experienced debater, the sensitive hand of a person experienced in nature and how we co-exist with it, the useful hand with short but effective reminder notes written on it to help stay on course, the strong hand that has reached out to help the common people, and the calloused hand that has known hard work.
Yes SirJP - It could all come to pass that Ms. Sarah Palin might be remembered as the President that changed the course of history by bringing common sense and dignity into the mainstream of American politics by breaking down the partisan barriers and thus enriching the lives of all Americans and many other citizens of the world for decades to come.
It could happen. I hope it does. How could you possibly wish for anything less?
You have the true faith of an acolyte, countryboy. At least you are saying 'it could happen' (though from your writings you give the impression that you 'know' it will happen), rather than 'it will happen' (most Joan of Arc acolytes 'know' that it will happen), so you haven't completely given over to your Saint, to your messiah.
I will give you that much.
Now if were to hand out that "compliment", I would probably would have worded it differently. It would have looked like this:
"You have true faith, countryboy. At least you are saying 'it could happen', rather than 'it will happen'.
See how short and sweet it could be? No sarcasm, no "loaded" comments, no unnecessary barbs...just straightforward commentary with an unclouded meaning. And you'd get the point across that much more quickly and effectively. (I am assuming your objective was to compliment me on my "faith", right?)
And that simply supports my definition of a conservative: "A liberal with common sense added." By adding common sense to the original quote, I actually ended up removing a lot of meaningless words which would otherwise serve to cloud the clear & complimentary message. And, by eliminating those needless words, it takes less time to type the message, thus proving that a conservative approach to an issue is inherently more productive than a liberal approach.
I have taken the time to provide you with these facts because, as a good conservative, I believe that people - no matter what their political stripe might be - can and will do a better job if they are just given the opportunity and the tools to do so.

I wasn’t handing out a compliment, countryboy. I am an Atheist, why would you think that me calling somebody an acolyte is my way of giving a compliment?
To me, an acolyte is the worst kind of believer; he has blind and total faith in his Messiah or his Prophet. He won’t hear any contrary argument, he will blame everybody else except his Messiah (thus when Joan of Arc bombed her interviews with Katie Couric, it was Couric’s fault).
The faith of an acolyte can be very dangerous indeed. An acolyte can easily be manipulated by his hero (or in the present case, his heroin), his passions can be switched on or off by his Messiah at the flick of a switch. Acolytes are easy to command, quick to anger, swift to take offense (particularly if somebody says something unfaltering about their idol, their icon).
So no way I was complimenting you by calling you an acolyte. Savonarola was a typical acolyte. If you are not familiar with him, read about him on the internet.
I'm still waiting for you to show us where YJ predicted a 50 state sweep by Palin.
You mention it so many times, you must know where you got it from.

There is more truth in that last sentence than in all the rest of the posts combined on this forum. Having said that Obama pretty well has the job for as long as he wants it (up to a max. of 8 years of course) Actually he's probably the best choice too. Sarah would be good (for leading the ladies on moose hunts in Alaska).

There is no way to search and pick out individual posts, TenPenny. If you search for posts by a particular poster (YukonJack in this instance) and put in key words, all you get is references to entire forums, the search results do not give individual posts.
Each thread has numerous posts. So I don’t think there is any way the forum lets us search for individual posts containing key words. I tried. If you know a way of doing it, let me know.
I distinctly remember YJ saying it. But since individual posts cannot be searched, it is my word against his. That is why I said to him that I won’t refer to it, if it bothers him so much. I have moved on.

If economy is in reasonable shape, I think Obama has a very good chance of being reelected.
If the economy is in terrible shape, well then I really do hope that Republicans nominate Joan of Arc. In a bad economy if Obama has a good chance of getting reelected against anybody, it would be Joan of Arc.
If the economy was still really bad in '13 it would not be in anyone's best interest to see Obama re elected. I'm guessing he'll improve it by 10-15%.
If you typed in the key words "Yukon Jack" and "Sarah Palin", you'd probably end up with half a million posts.................................:lol::lol:
But that is just it, they don't give you individual posts, they give the entire thread where the post occurs. Then you have to search through the thread for the particular post. We are talking of hours of work.
Anyway, there is no point in continuing pointless arguments, I don't think we can settle this. That is why I promised to YJ that I will stop referring to it.
Incidentally, you could search and pick out individual posts at canada.com forum. I was able to nail him many times over there.
Well then, since you can't prove a negative, and one making the claim has the burden of proof, I'd say that someone owes someone an apology.
Perhaps one may do better in keeping still thy waggling tongue until the evidence is at hand.
