Well, I'd guess that one would prompt a few thousand posts! Good idea, though. (When will you start it?) :-?

It would certainly be an interesting thread, but may be the cause of a bit of a "donnybrook":lol::lol: I think what one of the problems might be is that we are all brought up to a different set of ethical and moral standards, which when perceived to be threatened, automatically raises the hackles. The older you get the better you are able to deal with (but I'd probably have to live to 125 to be totally tolerant)

Depends on the individual project, most large western mines over there are like a little world in their own. They have their own schools, shops, guards etc you basically work within a "secure" compound.

A lot of Aussies like working on the mines in Africa because everything they earn over there is tax free and the pay is in US $ (not so great now the exchange rate has gone to ****). Only downside is most of the shifts are relatively long IE 5-7 weeks with 1-2 weeks off.

I was thinking about going to work in Canada myself. I'm also a union Carpenter and heard about the job recently. Can't seem to find much info at all though. I'd like to know more.

Maybe you and azezzo can commute together.

Good luck up there and I hope you get a lot more work.

i tried using that email address, but it didnt go thru as a valid email address, anyone know the correct one?

I dont think it's a legit ad for one thing, hard to say as I have been getting lots of oilfield offers from Nigeria lately and I have no idea how they got my e-mail.

Howdy Kakato, I think that impressive list of jobs, combined with a yahoo.com domain for the recruiter/advertiser, makes it look really suspicious. The fact that's it's Nigeria would really make me think twice about taking it seriously. Just an opinion...

The Nigerian banker I sent $1000 to last week said that Solgas is legit. He really sounds like a nice guy, guess my check for $500,000,000 from the queens estate is still in the mail.
