Tomorrow at the 11th hour many of us will stand silently remembering those whose lives were lost in the service of their country.
It does not matter to us what war it was, where it was, when it was or why it ever started. What does matter is that we remember the sacrifices they made and that we honor them for their courage.
Many of us, like myself, will also be praying for the soldiers now fighting in wars around the world. We will ask that our sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers, and sisters be returned to us safely once their duty is done.

I agree many do want the safe return - but others see every soldier killed as a reason to celebrate - Sad but true -

actually, the only real celebration I see is the one held every nov 11. One where the killing is celebrated, the killers are hailed as hero's, and the true victims are ignored.

"We will ask that our sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers, and sisters be returned to us safely once their duty is done.".....

Hmmm..."once their duty is done"? I believe our sorry asses are being hauled out of there in 2011?
I`m still wondering what in hell we Canadians are doing over there, aside from kissing American ass.

"many of us will stand silently remembering those whose lives were lost in the service of their country."...

Does that include remembering those in Iraq and Afghanistan who gave THEIR lives fighting to protect their population from OUR illegal invasion and OUR slaughtering of their countrymen, women and children included?

I didn`t think so.

Gerry HI never took you to be so dammed stupid but on this you do qualify - 11 Nov is not a celebration - It is not a holiday - It is not a day off from work - It is a day to Remember the sacrifices made -

The only 'ass' we would be kissing is that of the UN being that our mission in Afghanistan is by UN mandate, not U.S. mandate.

And yes, I do think of the men and women from countries all over the world who gave their lives for their countries. I think of the many wars fought before I was born and those during my lifetime, and I think of the millions of people whose lives are better today for the sacrifices made on the fields of battle.

AlbertaBoundRegarding Jbeee - Read all his posts - then come back and ask a pertiment question - Right now I have the opinion you brought a knife to a gunfight.

I don't need to read all his posts. I'm reading this post and I would like you to explain how his statement implies that he supports terrorism. If you are going to make a statement be ready to back it up.

I have a better one - China attacks India regarding the territories that each other has claims on - Pakistan raises troop levels at the Indian border and Kashmir - India does a 1st strike - Pakistan's nukes mostly destroyed - Not all - and Pakistani Army destroyed - Radical Islamics comes to power in Pakistan and state they have nukes - and Afghanistan - China supports both - Now that is a scenario - Oh yes meanwhile while these countries are killing each other - ethnics in Canada start attacking the other Ethnics -

I guess you can't really answer any questions ...can you? I would give you at least a little credit if this had anything remotely relative to the post and my original question. Yes I know, the evil axis of rogue countries are all going to get us, just because they hate us....right? All these people want is for America to stay the F#ck out of their business.

You want a scenario goober. Every day on your way to work you are stopped at 4 to 4 checkpoints told to get out of your car and searched for weapons and ID checked, later that night around midnight or 3 in the morning your front door is kicked down, 5 armed members of an invading army force point their guns at you and your family members heads and are told to get on the floor. Your house is searched and trashed.....well nothing here, carry on. Then you hear the next day how your daughter was killed in friendly fire. And what have these people done for our country again.....I forgot.

Iraq prior to 2000 had on of the highest standards of living in the middle east. Now they don't even have running water.

They the so called terrorists keep blowing up their own infrastructure as soon as it is repaired, along with their own people, but they do have democracy. Democracy does not come cheap as some think, never did.
