AlbertaBoundRegarding Jbeee - Read all his posts - then come back and ask a pertiment question - Right now I have the opinion you brought a knife to a gunfight.

I don't need to read all his posts. I'm reading this post and I would like you to explain how his statement implies that he supports terrorism. If you are going to make a statement be ready to back it up.

Point - Correct you do not have to read his post - as I stated I have my opinion based upon his past postings - If you choose not to read them - fine -
Quote:I have a better one - China attacks India regarding the territories that each other has claims on - Pakistan raises troop levels at the Indian border and Kashmir - India does a 1st strike - Pakistan's nukes mostly destroyed - Not all - and Pakistani Army destroyed - Radical Islamics comes to power in Pakistan and state they have nukes - and Afghanistan - China supports both - Now that is a scenario - Oh yes meanwhile while these countries are killing each other - ethnics in Canada start attacking the other Ethnics -
I guess you can't really answer any questions ...can you? I would give you at least a little credit if this had anything remotely relative to the post and my original question. Yes I know, the evil axis of rogue countries are all going to get us, just because they hate us....right? All these people want is for America to stay the F#ck out of their business.

Point - I can and do provide answers but your scenarios are off the wall - Just my opinion.

You want a scenario goober. Every day on your way to work you are stopped at 4 to 4 checkpoints told to get out of your car and searched for weapons and ID checked, later that night around midnight or 3 in the morning your front door is kicked down, 5 armed members of an invading army force point their guns at you and your family members heads and are told to get on the floor. Your house is searched and trashed.....well nothing here, carry on. Then you hear the next day how your daughter was killed in friendly fire. And what have these people done for our country again.....I forgot.

Point - Major attacks in any Western City - Europe - North America would mean check points - armed - and yes Iraq is a mess - How many times do you have to hear that from me - Really -

AlbertaBound Iraq prior to 2000 had on of the highest standards of living in the middle east. Now they don't even have running water.

Point- Can you back this fiction up - Perhaps you have forgotten the UN Mandated Sanctions?

I`m still wondering what in hell we Canadians are doing over there, aside from kissing American ass.

My understanding of what we were doing there was to try to wrestle control of Afghanistan out of the hands of the Taliban, and try to 'restore' it to some sort of democracy, all under the guise of the UN, not the US.

A mission that is reasonably unlikely to succeed, but it's a noble pursuit. In my opinion, if the Russians were unable to do much with Afghanistan, I don't know why we feel the UN forces can. But still, perhaps we will.

'WHY THE AFGHAN SURGE WILL FAIL'

http://original.antiwar.com/hallinan/2009/11/13/why-the-afghan-surge-will-fail/

''
The battle of Dananeh was a classic example of irregular warfare. The locals tip off the guerrillas that the army is coming. The Taliban set up an ambush, fight until the heavy firepower comes in, then slip away. ''

Bush had 7 years in which to build up the army, improve the infrastructure, and get the population on his side. Failing to do that in 7 years means it will never get done.

There is no further use in staying. It is time to get out and to have Bush pay for his war.

Where do some of you get the idea that building up the infrastructure was ever in the plan. It was just a simple plan, go in destroy al-Qaeda and the Taliban. By the way that was almost done until someone started putting rules as to where we can and cannot go, try and treat them humanly. Wonder how you treat animals like humans. How can you treat so called civilians as such when they help our enemy, some are the enemy. Ever try to tell the difference between a friendly civilian and a Taliban? Will we win, I do not think so with the attitude we now have.

If the "friendly" civilians are helping the Taliban, doesn't that tell you you are not wanted there. So why are we there again? The Taliban was supported by US until three days before invasion and Al-Quida is a myth. G Dubbya was never interested in Bin Laden, never even tried to catch him, in fact treated him in the US military hospital in Dubai after 911. You will not win because you have no reason to be there, no reason to win, nothing to win. And yes, Canada is stuck in the same quagmire.
Whata bunch of maroons!

The war, in theory according to Bush, was about stopping al-Qaeda. That was done. There is no further need to deal with the Taliban as that is the Afghanis problem. Therefore, it's time to call it quits in that needless war and to send the bill for its cost to Bush.

Actually, it is a NATO operation which means any party to it can leave at any time.

The UK's Gordon Brown is under intense pressure to leave and said it may be sooner than some may hope:

Gordon Brown: countdown to leave Afghanistan could start next year - Times Online

''
The countdown towards Britain’s exit from the war in Afghanistan could start as early as next year, Gordon Brown told a City audience last night.
He announced that a summit of Nato allies in London in January would set a process for transferring to full Afghan control district by district, and “if at all possible set a timetable for transfer starting in 2010”.
Although No 10 insisted that it would not be an “exit summit”, the in- clusion of the 2010 date was clearly designed to assure an increasingly sceptical British public that the Afghan mission was not indefinite. Next year is also election year in Britain.''
