It was, I used the palm of my hand, damn pumpkins is tough folk. It's actually a crossbow bolt that I ruined when it went clean through a target I thought would stop it.

How does the bolded make you an expert in anything? I'm almost finished with my BA in geography, and I don't recall studying hunting and the most effective way to kill a animal or fish. Is that reserved for 4th year? Granted my concentration is human geography, but still, it would be nice to add hunting expert to my resume.

I admit, I am getting tired of your BS, and did not carefully read your post.....on re-read, you did say "worked with wardens in the bush"....now, what did you DO?????

And, I would have to work at it a loonnnnggggg time to make as much of a fool of myself as you have. I know my ground, and can stand and defend my opinions, be it on ballistics, or animal behaviour, or ethics

You will not, because you can not.

Well I am getting tired of your BS. When you talk ethics, you have none. Killing for the fun of it is proof of it. You can't defend the opinion of you being despicable. I don't give a crap about ballistics and you don't know squat about animal behaviour, except yout own, so have a good day.

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I rest my case.

Colpy has earned a reputation as a knowledgeable poster and someone who knows a lot about firearms, hunting, etc. You have not. It would be a good idea if you shut up and just read for a while.

Feel free to show even the slightest bit of proof that you have a clue what you are talking about.

Human geography? It'll take you 4 years to figure out where arms, legs, and bellybuttons are supposed to be?

We are talking only about ONE case. No point going off half cocked.
The ONE case that I am talking about is YOU claiming that you have knowledge of hunting etc because you worked for DNR 'in the bush'.

Which zone did you work in, out of what office, and who did you work under, and what did you do?

Since I know several of the former chief foresters and wildlife people in several zones, I'm curious to see what your answers are.

That is just nonsense. Colpy has a fine reputation. You, on the other hand, are looking like a bit of a dolt.

I MIGHT HAVE KNOWN. Well you like killing, so the practice shouldn't be a problem...

At least the animal has a chance against an arrow. It seems you are not the great hunter you pretend to be. And yes, the bow is superior.

Archery should be for target shooting only. A arrow has little or no shock value unless you hit a vital spot. A rifle/firearm will bring down just about any animal with its shock value only. You can then if needed finish it off with a second shot. As for shooting coyotes, a firearm is much more efficient and easier to use.
When it comes to hunting animals, I like Cliffy's weapon of choice, a knife or possibly a bow and arrow if you put a 3 foot line on the arrow.

I don't have to account to you with any of the requested questions, if you would rather believe a braggard so be it. I really don't give a crap.

I don't believe a braggard, which is why I asked YOU to put up or shut up.

You certainly don't have to account to me, I understand that you're just making **** up on the fly, to pretend you have some background that would give you a semblance of knowledge.

I was trying to give you an easy way out, so you could concoct some bs story, but you can't even do that. You're probably a 14 year old, who has never met a tree, much less worked for DNR.

Many people hunt for enjoyment of the sport. If they stick strictly to game that they can eat afterwards to make it 'worth' it, it doesn't really erase the fact that they are hunting because they enjoy it. They're not 'better' in terms of 'blood thirst' simply because they also devour the flesh of the animals they take down.

People who don't like to hunt, but do anyway because it's the only way they can stock the freezer, might fit into the profile of 'ethical' hunters, but, the distinctions you're trying to draw between sport hunters you respect or tolerate, and Colpy, are intellectually dishonest.

Colpy is no different from any other sport hunter, except for maybe being more honest about why he hunts.

Northern Ontario,
People especially PETA people seem to think that man is the only predator hunting in the bush. Animals hunt each other for food.
Moose is a big animal and with its hooves when they are in a herd can defend themselves against a pack of wolves….but only if the snow is not too deep…so if we have a winter with a lot of snow the moose population suffers an conversely when we have a winter with light snow then the wolves and foxes have to rely on small game for survival…another reason for few birds this year…Several winters with little snow and a rainy summer this year so probably a lot of eggs didn’t hatch.
I personally think that nature does more to decimate a particular animal population than man….Man’s involvement is mostly expansion of living area as the population grows, man needs more land for cities, more farm land to feed those cities….So in the end city dwellers, who never hunt, could be just as responsible for the animal population dwindling slowly, as the hunters are, because, to build a house you need wood, and when you cut the trees to build houses you destroy a little bit of that habitat.
The newspaper you read was made from wood.
Go figure…so now city folks with all the pollution, is the villain, not the hunter….

In all my years in Northern Ontario, I have never seen a wild animal die of old age. When they are weak or sick there is always another animal that starts to feed on them…. usually before they are dead…..so a hunter’s bullet is not that cruel after all….at least man kills even cooks meat before he eats.

Except for the poor lobster…boiled alive ….yikes
