Mantracker and survivorman are 2 of my favourite shows, mantracker lives not far from me in Alberta and survivorman is just good considering he does all his own camera work.

I watched them both once, and found them both to be a waste of time...

Yeah and yet the drivers that get pulled over are the ones that signal for 3 seconds instead of 5 or because one of their brake lights isn't working--no indication of this on the dash so the officer should warn you, not ticket you--or because they "speed" in the passing lane on an open stretch of a four-lane highway in good weather conditions.
If you do your pre trip you would know if a light is out. Also on most vehicles if one light bulb is burned out the indicator light on the dash will flash faster than normal. Of course to notice this one must actually USE turn signals and not assume that the rest of us can read your mind.
The ones I would like to nominate for darwin awards are the tourists who pass me on secondary roads when I got a lowbed with 100000 lbs load and then find them parked in the middle of a bridge a few corners down the hill looking at the bears fishing. Dam near killed a whole family one day like that.

Outside of the odd episode of CWD, I manage to miss reality shows. I know, I am soooo colonial and rural, but what can I say? I just like reading, chatting, and being outside a lot.

Yeah, I was too, we had poverty vision on the farm, (CBC,CTV and a French channel). The East Coast weather isn't friendly to outdoorsy prairie folk this time of the year, and I can't believe we actually pay for 100 channels, 95 of them programmed with tripe.:banghead:

Someone should put a bounty out on him for bad acting.
I would rather watch Vince slap chop his nuts then the dog and his god fearing family take down some 16 year old kid that skipped court.

The cable company should give rebates for putting crap like that on.

You gotta remember that Dog, (Duane Chapman) is a bail bondsman, these 16 year old punks that skip court are actually stiffing him and other like him for the bonds they put up to get them out of the clink. But the show does get repetative, I haven't watched it for over a year.

I really like Mantracker, but some of the losers they get as contestants are just plain embarassing, I'm surprised they don't get caught in the first two hours, like the Cape Breton couple who just couldn't seem to shut up, reminds me of the time my mother and her sisters decided they would accompany me on a hunting trip.

Survivorman I can do without, reminds me too much of experiences I had to live out for real.

What..you use a coat-hanger to pick up the only two channels available in your neck of the woods?

As for `Corner Gas`, I`ve tried sitting through an episode of that program and **** me...it seems to be made up of a cast of morons with no acting skills and the `humor`making no sense what so ever. :-?

I like that one also but dont get it much as the other two shows, and magic bullet infomercials and slapchop vince.

I fought my way through ten minutes of CWD last night and no thanks, not as long as corner gas is on the other channell.

You've not lived in Saskatchewan have you? Or maybe you're from there and are offended. I find it is quite comical, just like the folks there, and the ones it reminds me of are quite offended by it, hmmm. Not all humor is appreciated by all folks, but hey...

Do Hollywood a favour and throw yourself off a balcony Zan.

..but seriously......consumer driven?

More like being force-fed this thought and we respondng in kind.

still an ass eh jbeee?

Aw well, we're none of us perfect, I'm almost an ugly old bag, not quite there yet, still workin' on it,

I find myself horrified not only by the fact that I agree with your thoughts on the quality of programming available on television, but by the fact that it's consumer driven. They're not doing it to us, we're creating a market for it. I just caught a bit of something called "Dog the Bounty Hunter" the other day. It made me want to throw my brand new big screen tv off the balcony.

As a group, we really really scare me.

I think I saw this mantracker once. Guy on a horse tracking down people. 2 city girls were on the show and managed to out manouvre him for almost the entire show and one girl sacrificed herself to let the other get the prize or something. Some tracker. My Dad would lead the guy and sooooo many goose chases he'd be dizzy for a week.

You got that right:thumbright:, some of our friends don't like it because it reminds them too much of themselves.
lol Good show. The goofy young guy always made me want to sit him down and explain life to him. lol

that's it? that's what ya got? Good gawd Jbeee do your benders ever end?

and yes I said consumer driven - if no one watched that tripe, it would be canceled. We need to raise the bar on what we're willing to settle for.

It's just a show but rest assured he isnt some noobie bush cowboy. He's got the same backyard as me(kananaskis, livingstone range)and pretty well grew up in that country as it's all ranchlands grazing co-op.
He does live on the prarie side of the rockies though and those guys have a hard time getting off their horses so I know I could lose him in the mountains on foot easily.
Their used to tracking cattle, not peeps so that gal was probably smarter then a cow.;-)
Thing is on the show theres a time limit, they dont have weeks. The prey has to make it to the finish line and the shortest route is usually a straight line.

A coat hanger worked but I just built my own antenna's.
Then when hockey night in Canada was on the wife didnt have to stay on the roof holding it at just the right angle anymore.

Those were the good old days where you would turn on the shortwave just to hear the time thing, beep beep beep....at the tone,it will be eleven oclock....beeeeeeeeeep!
