...and that other waste of mind, `Canada`s Worst Handyman`.

I`m yet to flick through more mindless television programming as these two.

The producers of this contrived stuff/fluff should be shot. (ok, I admit I have watched it....about a whole 5 minutes of it combined since it`s conception)...enough to surmise that this country, the CRTC in general, ought to stop smoking crack long enough to realize what a waste of time, money and young minds this creates by feeding this **** to the public on a stick.

Is this type of programming supposed to be `funny`!?

From what I`ve gleamed so far, it appears both shows seem to be made up of willing, real life idiots and a bunch of producers, willing to exploit them for what it`s worth...the bottom line $$.

Are there not more subjects Canadians in this field (television) can come up with?

Oh, I think they're both pretty funny.

On the one hand, with Canda's Worst Driver, you get to understand what sort of people are out there sharing the roads with you - hotshot young punk with no skills, or trashy **** who thinks she can get away with anything because she looks like a ****.

On Handyman, you get to see what sort of people might have owned the house before you...and what horrible crap you might find. It's funny.

But I have to believe that some of it is deliberate - I cannot believe people really are this stupid. But then again, based on my drive home, I dunno....

CWD is scary stuff! That one girl has gone through over a dozen cars. And one guy was so neurotic he panicked if he had to make a left turn on an empty street. Another guy sped like a maniac till he got in front of someone else on the freeway and then slammed on his brakes. It sure made me more cautious about who I share the road with. Good waker upper.

Let me guess...you`re an ugly old bag with a perfect driving record for finding CWD funny?

As for the second one, I find it sad to see a fully grown man or women perplexed while trying to drive a six inch screw into a solid piece of hard-wood (with no pre-drilled hole) for example. I mean come on!...leave the morning cartoons for these `special` people`s entertainment.

Contrived bull-**** perhaps. More along the lines of "Professional Wrestling"?

Hard to say for sure. Can't tell from his/her profile. But,, I've called him/her Mr. Penny quite a few times and got no objections.

I don't watch either one, but, I'm happy if any Canadian show earns a portion of Canadian viewership. It beats people watching Jon and Kate, or the Hills, or a handful of any of the other vapid crap out there.

still an ass eh jbeee?

Aw well, we're none of us perfect, I'm almost an ugly old bag, not quite there yet, still workin' on it,

I find myself horrified not only by the fact that I agree with your thoughts on the quality of programming available on television, but by the fact that it's consumer driven. They're not doing it to us, we're creating a market for it. I just caught a bit of something called "Dog the Bounty Hunter" the other day. It made me want to throw my brand new big screen tv off the balcony.

As a group, we really really scare me.

British tv isn't so bad sometimes. I like the mysteries and the funny ones. I like Nova, NatGeo, and that sort of thing.

Yes some of them are that stupid. Just talk to a firefighter or paramedic. We have seen some really stupid things. I doubt even with really god drugs no body could think up some of the things that happen in real life. Just that TV usually never shows the fatals.

Not even close. Put it this way - I used to do 5,000 km/month for my job, and if I'm on the highway, it's 99% certain that I'm speeding.

But I know how to handle my car, and I've driven on roads that had drifts so deep they came up over the hood of my car.

Feel free to heap scorn where you want, I'll get my sister in law to teach you a thing or two. She was taught to drive by Jacques Villeneuve (uncle).

Me too, although not Canadian,(yet), I can't understand the religious following of tripe like Dancing With the Stars. I don't think Canada could field enough dancing "Stars" for the program to work here. But then there's the Canuck version of Do You Think You Can Dance; how much more drivel can we take?

Although I do gete a kick out of Dragon's Den, but alas, it originated in Japan and is owned by SONY. On the upside, the American version, Shark Tank, has Canadians Kevin O'Leary and Robert Herjavec on its panel.
