wade through the silliness of five different colors instead of quotes
before), a Moderator has to backtrack through an entire Thread ( or
Threads at times) trying to figure out who said what when and where,

Ron, here is the color code for you, it is very simple. If I am quoting another poster, I use red italics. If I am quoting from my previous post, I use blue (not italics). Simple.

It's actually simpler to use the quote feature/format, and if you want to dick around in a word processor program, simply stick in the 'quote' and '/quote' fields.

Blacks vote for liberals against conservatives by more than 90%. With Hispanics, the margin is not so lop sided, but still they overwhelmingly vote for liberals. Which tells me that the minorities just don’t believe anything conservatives say.

...and when there's five or more colors? Here's something that is even simpler.

If a post is reported, all the multicolored stuff will be the first things unapproved,
and the last things reviewed, if or when time permits. It's confusing, and a make
work project for the Moderators. I for one am not interested in wading through
any more multicolored posts if reported than I've already had to in the past.

If one of the other Moderators wishes to wade through them once unapproved
if reported, that's their prerogative. Even simpler is, if something isn't quoted
in a post from another post using the quote feature, then the words belong to
whomever posted it....so lets hope they're not offensive regardless of what
color they happen to be. Problem solved. That was easy. Simple even.

Base voters are not the only ones who vote for a party in elections. A party usually attracts votes besides its base, if it doesn’t it will get trounced, probably won’t win even one seat. But look at tea parties, look at Town Hall meetings, those who draw Hitler’s moustache on Obama, those who paint Obama as an African witch doctor, the birthers, those who claim that Obama is an illegal alien. Unmasking Obama

It is now abundantly clear that the image of Barack Obama sold to the American electorate was tightly edited, air-brushed, and exaggerated. He has worn a series of masks -- eloquent orator, brilliant scholar, centrist, and literary sensation. All of these masks are coming off as he copes with a job for which image will not suffice. For instance, hiding behind the eloquent orator mask is a guy who says "uhh" a lot when he is winging it, and who makes lots of factual and grammatical mistakes.

Now, thanks to Jack Cashill, the literary mask has been removed. Obama is a literary pretender. Case closed. The evidence is overwhelming that Bill Ayers ghost-wrote Dreams from my Father, the book which established Obama's pose as a brilliant writer (and therefore a fine mind, in the estimation of many). The stylistic resemblance between the Dreams and Ayers' work is stunning. Now we know, thanks to Chris Andersen's new book,that Obama hit a brick wall trying to fulfill his contract to produce a book, and shipped off his notes and tapes to Ayers. That is the classic description of a ghost writer's assignment. And it completely fits the theories Cashill had inferentially reasoned from the data of his literary studies.

The revelation that Chris Andersen had two separate sources means that this fact meets the journalistic standard of reliability, provided by a respected, established bestselling author. Obama's dismissal of Ayers as "just a guy in the neighborhood" has been shown to be an outright lie.

That will certainly be the verdict of history, regardless of whether or not the issue of Obama's ghost written book ever breaks through into the national discussion. My bet is that the media will not be able to suppress discussion. The image of Obama packing boxes full of tapes and notebooks and hauling them over to Ayers' house a couple of blocks away, is simple and compelling evidence of a ghost writer being put to work. Jack's literary detective work made the case, and Andersen's two neighborhood sources confirm it.

Anyone who refuses to deal with this issue is willfully avoiding topics that make Obama look bad. The facts are in the public domain.

OK, so it is a matter of semantics, isn't it, as to when the meltdown actually started.

The credit freeze occurred about a year ago, when Lehman Brothers went belly up. Until then we had run of the mill recession.

True, the recession was caused by the housing bubble burst and everyone expected it would run its course in a year or so. The problem was few people realized what was going on in the mortgage industry that had caused the housing bubble to get so huge.

Once Lehman Brothers went under, financial institutions stopped lending almost completely, resulting in the credit freeze and necessitating two huge stimulus packages.

I have said it before, if Bush had spent a few billion dollars in bailing out Lehman Brothers, we would have had run of the mill recession, and not the almost depression that we had.

All financial institutions were in trouble by that time. Lehmans were just the first big one to go under. By itself, that was not enough to cause a depression, but it was a wake-up call. If the government had bailed them out it would have made no difference, the credit freeze would have happened anyway, because by then in was undeniable that all those bundled mortgage investments were virtually worthless, and no-one knew who all had them. It was a house of cards. When AIG went down, Bernanke recognized that this time their collapse would most definitely lead to a depression, hence the bailout, first from the Fed, and when they didn't have enough, from the government. The AIG crash was an unusual event. They're an insurance company. But some of their executives (who have long been let go) decided to get into financial matters, which do not fall under insurance, but rather under banking. Insurance is regulated by the individual states. Banking is regulated by the Feds. This was a loophole, since the states wouldn't regulate their "banking" activities, and the Feds wouldn't regulate an insurance company they got away with a lot of bad practices.

So another way of looking at it would be that the meltdown started a year ago, in September 2008.

American Thinker {sic} went so far as to say that Obama was well aware for one year of a secret nuclear facility in Iran. What those far right idiots failed to understand is that Obama was not president a year ago and could not have access to Top Secret info. Bush was. And if he failed to do anything about it then he is to blame for any violation of the NPT*. American Thinker is a total embarassment to the far right.



*The facility was held not be in violation of the NPT by the IAEA.
