No, I am not holding a poll like that, moderators rest assured. But such a poll was indeed posted on the Facebook, showing the visceral hatred that the far right feels for Obama.

The respondents were given several options, ‘yes’, ‘maybe’, ‘no’, ‘only if he tries to reform health care’ etc. The poll was shut down by Facebook and FBI is investigating into the matter.

Facebook is overhauling its third party poll option. "The application was immediately suspended while the inappropriate content could be removed by the developer and until such time as the developer institutes better procedures to monitor their user-generated content," Schnitt said in a statement to FOXNews.com.

Bob Beckel, a Democratic Party strategist and FOX News contributor, said the individual responsible for the poll should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

If somebody commits a crime, the anonymity of internet will not save him.

Anyway, this really reinforces what former presidents Carter and Clinton have said. Carter said that some of the more virulent criticism of Obama has been racially motivated. Any talk of Obama’s assassination probably has a racial element to it. According to Clinton, the ‘vast right wing conspiracy’ is very much alive, though somewhat weakened compared to when he was the president.

And indeed, we saw similar behavior at the tea parties, Town Hall meetings etc, where Obama’s picture was drawn with Hitler’s mustache on it, where Obama was portrayed as an African witch doctor etc.

Indeed, it is a wonder that Obama has not been assassinated already; FBI must be doing a fantastic job to keep the miscreants in line.

Incidentally, I have not heard any Republican politicians condemn the poll.

Somethings not right with our neighbors to the south,i've never seen such hysteria, venom and vitriol directed at a sitting president,i'm thinking they're losing it to the point that civil war between the two parties cant be ruled out. As a famous Quebec politician once said=

Starting with Clinton, there has been strong ranting and hatred for any sitting President, and it seems to get worse each time. No election goes by without ranting about election fraud, and nobody will ever let the new guy have any 'honeymoon' period.

People stll claim that Bush stole an election, and they claim that Obama can't be President becuase he's black, I mean because they don't believe his birth certificate.

I doubt that it will get any better, people have no tolerance for those who have different politics. Just look on this forum.

From the story I was told - he already has been assassinated. It sounded pretty reasonable to me so I believe it.

You're daft. Where were you during Bush's second term?

If you had read the link given by me (or even just the thread posted by me), it says that Facebook took it down immediately, as soon as they became aware of it.

Honestly, when I read any of your messages and it reads "far-right" or the like, I usually skip the rest. That's the price I pay I guess.

Why give it any validity at all. Remember what you said to me. Should have just ignored it, just someone trying their hands at a little sensationalism.
