I like seeing people's tattoos, especially well planned, artfully done ones. I like looking through the books when I visit my friend's tattoo room. I like going to a party, and seeing the newest piece of inspiration on a friend. I think they tell a very vivid story for most people. For some, they are done merely for appearance, and tell you nothing. For others they mark out major life events.

But, I still haven't ever found one I want to live the rest of my life with.

I have tattooes and dont regret having them done ,each one is personal to me and the people in my life .As for having them done its a personal preference ,and a tattoo does not always reflect the person who is wearing them ,once upon a time people with tattooes were regarded as being rough ,but not nowadays they are regarded as a work of art ,just goes to show you cant judge a book by its cover

Ditto. I have a few. Got them about 20yrs ago. Don't regret it at all.
About 1/2 the people in my Family have at least one, & about 1/2 don't.
Same situation in my place of work. No big thing....

I read the Thread title and thought, "Well how 'bout that! YukonJack has
opened his own Tattoo Parlor and is try'n to drum up some business here!"

I read through and it's not Tattoo SPAM. Go figure, eh?

I completely agree with you. I really like asking people about their tattoos and hearing them tell the story behind them.

I know what I would get and where I would get it but I haven't looked for an artist to do it yet.

I really like tattoos. I don't have one myself but I would get one and I like the way they look on others as well.
I guess it is just personal taste.
Hiya, Haz. :)
I been getting tats for a couple years now, I think. I could never decide on what I wanted so I thought I'd just get temps and that way, when I get tired of the teddy bear on my butt, I get a rose on my shoulder or something. I love them.

Well said Ron Tattoos in England are a big thing now ,they are works of art ,my wife has two tattooes both which are very personal to her ,and relates to both lives past and present .One tattoo relates to her deceased parents and one to our family ,they are a lasting reminder of both past and present .

You don't have to live with a tat forever, Hon. :) An artist who can do a permanent one can also do temps.

Isn't it Samoans who carry their entire family histories in the tats on their bods? I think that's kind of neat.

Samoan tattoos, or tataus as they are rightfully called, are more than just body art. A tatau is a sign of respect for the traditions and culture of the Samoan people, and the person who wears one is marked with a representation of the pride of his/her entire family.

Then there's the practical aspect to some Tattoos. My Son & Daughter-in-Law
had their wedding rings tattooed on. My Son is currently a forklift operator but
will some day be a welder so the wedding ring being tattooed on was a bit
of forethought to not loosing a finger over jewelry, and my Daughter-in-Law's
matches my Son's.

Mine are personal to me. Same with the other members of my family. There's
a story behind all of them, and it only has to make sense to the person who'll
wear them forever.

I remember seeing a picture somewhere of a fellow with a huge tattoo that spread from his arm across his body. The tattoo itself was not the issue, but the needle tracks(not from a tattoo inker, either;-)) that were in great abundance underneath his arms!8O

The main thing that would prevent me from getting a tattoo is my fear of needles.

lmao The ones I hate are the dentists' needles. Like they couldn't use smaller ones. I'm pretty sure vets don't use those big sizes on elephants and horses.
Nifty thing about temps is there aren't needles. Mine are either drawn and/or airbrushed on.

That is a good compromise for both sides of this battle.;-)

And the track marks I was talking about in my previous post was of the illegal drug/steroid variety.8O:lol:
