USA has the highest cancer survival rate, around 90%, Canada around 80%, Europe around 60%.
Being considered a survivor means living another 5 years. In the 6th and 7th year they usually crap out from cancer returning in another form. Check the stas and terminology to confirm for yourself.

The "cure" for cancer is a healthy immune system and cancer is preventable if we want it to be.

Only time will tell if Obama was able to avert the impending disaster of the Carter/Clinton mess

Carter/Clinton mess? Extrafire, for you information, Clinton presided on a roaring, robust economy. He was easily reelected and left office with an approval rating of around 65% (in spite of the politically motivated impeachment by the Republicans), largely because of economic performance.

Economic performance during Clinton period was the best in recent memory, stock market soared during his presidency. USA had record budget surplus. This is in stark contract to Bush, who presided over two economic meltdown in his eight years, and the stock market went pretty much nowhere during his eight years (and USA had record budget deficits).

Wrong. They are asking questions and not just sitting back and swallowing whatever the Democrats are saying.

They are not asking question, EagleSmack. They are yelling and shouting and they don’t let anybody (including the person they asked the question to) speak.Thier sole purpose is to trash the meeting, to break up the meeting.

Just another liberal distraction because their plan is failing.

Personally, I don’t care if the health care plan passes or fails. It does not affect Canada either way. What I find objectionable is the yelling, shouting and in general drowning out anybody by the rent a mob. Reminds me of what happened in this forum.

Hate mongers. Don't make me laugh. If you are against Socialized Medicine that makes you a hate monger.

No, if you are a professional rabble rouser, if you come to Town Hall meeting with the sole purpose of trashing the meeting, with the sole purpose of not letting anybody speak, with the sole purpose of drowning out anybody who tries to speak, that makes them hate mongers. It is the same crowd that shouted obscenities towards Obama at the Republican campaign meetings (‘Obama is an Arab’, ‘kill him’ etc.). They were hate mongers then and they are hate mongers now.

That way the Democrats could avoid tough questions with the excuse that they had too many other questions.

No, that way Democrats could avoid each and every meeting getting trashed by the Republican rent a mob.

This once again shows that you know very little about town meetings. It is not a new phenomenom here in the US. Town Meetings are generally held once a month. Nobody pays to get in them and they are open to the public.

Again, do you have a link to it? I bet you don’t, because I don’t think government pays for it. The organizer of the meeting pays for it.

Run your own fool's errand silly man. I don't have a link that says they sell groceries at a grocery store either. They still sell groceries there though.

Just as I expected, EagelSmack, you don’t have a link where it says that government pays for it, because government does NOT pay for it. This is something you just made up.

The government DOES pay for it. A town meeting is open to the public. It always has been. I assure you the politician doesn't take money out of his pocket. At any rate...who pays the politician? The people that is who.

Again, talk is cheap, show me the link. I could say government gives every American a million dollars every year, it means nothing without a link. I don’t thin government pays for it. I think the politician (who organized the meeting) pays for it (probably not out of his pocket, he raises the money).

What part of this aren't you getting?

The part about government paying for it, because I don’t think it happens.

Ah... how pathetic as the liberals attempt to make this a hate thing. As I have told you...that has run it's course and nobody is listening to that silliness.

That way the Democrats could avoid tough questions with the excuse that they had too many other questions.
No, that way Democrats could avoid each and every meeting getting trashed by the Republican rent a mob.

That would make sense...Democrats running and hiding when they actually have to answer questions.

It does not matter what you think. You are wrong. Show me a link where the organizer pays for a town meeting. A TOWN MEETING.

You have no clue about town meetings in the US. They are free and public and all are invited to attend. Why do you think the opposition is there in the first place? Do you think the Democrats want people against Socialized Medicine asking hard questions? Of course not.

Run your own fool's errand silly man. I don't have a link that says they sell groceries at a grocery store either. They still sell groceries there though.
Just as I expected, EagelSmack, you don’t have a link where it says that government pays for it, because government does NOT pay for it. This is something you just made up.

Nice try.

Town Meetings are free and for the public. No link neccessary. If you knew anything about US Politics you would know that.

The government DOES pay for it. A town meeting is open to the public. It always has been. I assure you the politician doesn't take money out of his pocket. At any rate...who pays the politician? The people that is who.

Politicians raise money for town meetings! What a laugh.

Sure US has the right to go it alone, Extrafire. But the consequence is usually the disaster we saw in Iraq. In recent memory, most of the military operations have been joint operations.

The only time leaders went on their own was when Saddam invaded Iraq, when Serbia invaded Kosovo etc. Bush, by going alone, joined the likes of Saddam and Milasovic. It was an unmitigated disaster in all the three cases.

Any nation has the right to invade another nation. But then the invader must face the consequences, such as international condemnation, fierce opposition at home (his party getting wiped out in two elections in a row) etc.
You're extrapolating a few events as the result of and independant nation acting as one. Any independant, sovereign nation must retain the right to decide when and where and if it goes to war. Once it has made the decision to do so, whether on its own or with partners, is irrellevant to the outcome. The outcome is dependant on how the war is waged and the competance/strength of the opposing forces. Whether a nation fights alone or with partners is irrellevant.

Yes they are asking questions and they are just not answering.

They are not asking questions, EagleSmack, they are simply shouting, yelling and drowning everybody out. I don’t think they have the brains enough to ask intelligent questions. They are only good for yelling and shouting such witticisms as ‘Obama is an Arab’, and ‘kill him’.

Ha! You are so invested emotionally in Obama. You love the man.

Just your opinion, EagleSmack. You can think whatever you want.

As I have told you...that has run it's course and nobody is listening to that silliness.

Again, your opinion. I think that is very close to truth. One only has to compare these Town Hall meetings with Republican rallies and compare the hate filled audience for those meetings (‘Obama is an Arab’, ‘kill him’) with the hate filled audience here.

That would make sense...Democrats running and hiding when they actually have to answer questions.

Again, nobody is asking any questions, just the angry, pitch fork wielding mob incited by Republicans. As I said, I doubt that lot is intelligent enough to ask any serious questions. All they know is yell, shout and drown everybody out.

Again... you can "think" all you want but you are wrong.

Again, your opinion only.

Politicians raise money for town meetings! What a laugh.

You can only laugh. You cannot provide proof that government pays for it, so all you have left is laughter.

In this day and age, it is very relevant whether a nation commits a naked aggression on another nation, or whether it convinces an international grouping such as NATO or UN that a particular nation is in gross violation of human rights and military action must be taken against such a nation.

When Bush invaded Kuwait, or when Clinton started bombing Serbia, they took their cases to international bodies (UN and NATO) and got their cooperation.

Empire building, naked aggression (as Bush was involved in Iraq) went out of style decades ago, it went the way of British Empire.

Just because a nation has right to do something doesn’t mean that it is right to do so. A nation has the right to put its own population in concentration camp, or to start Hitler style aggression of a whole continent, that does not make it right.

I thought empire building, ‘might makes right’ kind of philosophy went the way of dodo bird. Evidently not in some circles.

By committing naked aggression against a country which had not doe it any harm, Bush has lined himself with aggressors such as Saddam, Milasovic, Hitler, Genghis Khan etc.

Why certainly I know that, Extrafire. USA was a living Hell under Carter. It was positively a paradise under Reagan and Bush. Then it became a living Hell under Clinton.

After eight years of living Hell (under Clinton), when they had 25 % unemployment and 20% inflation, we again has eight years of paradise, eight years of bliss with the last Messiah, Bush the second. Milk and honey flowed through these lands, with chicken in every pot, full employment, poverty was eliminated, everybody had health insurance, USA was as close to paradise as it could possibly get (short of the arrival of Jesus , of course). Unemployment 0.1% (or was it zero?), inflation, 0.1%.

Then the nightmare, the living Hell started all over again, with election of Obama, a Muslim terrorist, an illegal alien. Why, now USA is practically a third world country, with people dying in the street of hunger, disease, plague and pestilence. Four Horsemen of Apocalypse are running rampant. Only the election of Joan of Ark will save USA, turn it into a paradise yet again.

You right wing extremists are simply amusing.

A pay for outcome / value payment system, key to the deficit-neutral, might be capable of bringing all groups together. Supporters of the agreement say it could save the Medicare System more than $100 billion a year and 'improve' care, that means more than $1trillian over a decade, and virtually needs no other resources including tax on the wealthiest. (Please visit kare11.com | Twin Cities, MN | Mayo clinic becomes model for future of health care for detailed infos). As much as 30 percent of all health-care spending in the U.S. -some $700 billion a year- may be wasted on tests and treatments that do not improve the health of the recipients,” Thus the remaining $239 billions over a decade do not matter. Dr. Armadio at Mayo clinic says, "If we got rid of that stuff, we save a third of all that we spend and that is 2.5 trillion dollars on health care. A third of that and that is 700 billion dollars a year. That covers a lot of uninsured people." 1. There is no need for infighting and class conflict. 2. It can satisfy revenue-neutral raised by the Republicans. 3. It is able to resolve the regional disparity. 4. It may bring the private insurers to competition, innovation. 5. The focus on 'outcome' over volume can make the practitioners more accurate and creative based on IT SYSTEM and evidence, while eliminating the additional, unnecessary care that is increasing patients' pains, frustrations, and possible side-effects. 6. The desperate people will get back American dream.

My favorite question to a congressman was...

"If this program is so good, why has congress made themselves exempt?"

Of course they had no answer.

No, it is fact. They have town meetings all the time for a number of reasons. Nobody collects money at the door. I've been to a couple myself for other reasons.

I am not talking of you, EagleSmack. I don’t know you and for all I know, you may be asking questions. But the rent a mob we see on television, their faces contorted with hate are doing anything but ask questions. They are simply yelling, shouting and drowning everybody out.

Oh no...it is silly and people aren't buying it. That is why they keep showing up.

Sure rent a mob keeps showing up, why shouldn’t they? They are not interested in health care or anything else for that matter. Theses yahoos are there only to yell, shout and shut down the meeting. I am sure they are having the time of their life, why shouldn’t they show up?

Of course, you want them to be sheep like liberal Democrats and just do as they are told.

I thought they do as they are told, EagleSmack. They are given their marching orders by the extreme right wing groups and the Republican party. Their marching orders are to disrupt each and every Town Hall meeting, to prevent anybody from speaking at these meetings and they carry out their orders remarkably well.

I do laugh because because the notion of politicians paying out of pocket for town meetings is ludicrous.

You belong to extreme right, you quote extreme right wing, religious right websites here (American Thinker etc..) as the Gospel truth. You would be on the extreme right wing fringe of Alliance Party here, part of the far right Republican base in USA. So you agree with EagelSmack. Sure they are free, I never said they weren’t. I said that they are not funded by the government. Seeing that you cannot produce a website to support your claim that they are funded by the government, I tend to think that I am right.
