The right and far right have a visceral hatred of Obama. They hate Obama even more than they hated Clinton, if such a thing is possible.
And I can understand the reason for their hatred. Just two years ago, far right had absolute control, absolute stranglehold on all seats of power. Far right could do pretty much anything they wanted, enact pretty much anything they wanted into a law (as they did in Terry Schivo case). Presidency, Congress, Supreme Court all were Republican controlled.
While they lost in 2006, the losses were not bigger than expected. The party in power typically loses 25 to 30 seats in the House and 5 to 10 seats in the Senate during the second midterm. So by usual standards, the Republican losses were not excessive in 2006. And they still had the Presidency.
They probably hoped to reverse the losses in 2008. They were hoping that McCain would win. While McCain was not their man, the VP candidate, Joan of Arc definitely was. With McCain in power, Joan of Arc (who is even more conservative than Bush) would be the real power behind throne.
All their hopes were dashed by Obama. He really took them to cleaners in 2008. Obama kicked ass in 2008 big time. 2008 was a disastrous election for right and far right. Not only Obama won, he had wide coattails. He brought many Senators and Congressmen with him. Now right has nothing, they are out in the wilderness. They are not used to being in the wilderness, they are used to President and Congress regard their word as Gospel truth, their wish was Bush’s command. Obama changed all that, big time.
So I can see why right and far right is desperate to get Obama out of office. One tactic is to try to get the courts to declare him a Muslim terrorist, an illegal alien and have him imprisoned or deported. That doesn’t seem to go anywhere.
The other tactic is to trash Obama for any reason at all, real or imagined. So right cooks up all kinds of fantasies about Obama. They somehow try to convince us that he is Hitler and Stalin, a Nazi and a Communist at the same time.
Their tactics on this forum and elsewhere are amusing to watch. It makes for a good fiction reading.

If Obama was such a fascist as those idiots say he is, why hasn't he arrested them and sent them off to a Dachau or an Auchwitz? Why hasn't he burned down their houses or arrested so much as one person for imagined crimes against the state?

Stretch, Obama does not need an executive order to bar the release of his birth certificate. His birth certificate cannot be released without his permission (same as yours cannot be released without your permission).
I don’t know about the executive order, but that is a non issue. The only way Obama’s birth certificate can be released is by his permission, there are privacy issues involved. The executive order is just something brought up by the right wing conspiracy nuts (who are convinced that Obama is an illegal alien and a Muslim terrorist).

Let's not split hairs, it's all in the Pacific Ocean, perhaps he was holidaying in Hawaii. Or perhaps he just got it mixed up with another event.

The far right hates Obama with a passion, he gives them apoplexy. They hated Clinton with a passion, they even impeached him on a trumped up, political charge. But it didn’t work, far right was never really able to convince Americans at large that Clinton is a spawn of the Devil. Clinton left office with approval rating of 65 % (as opposed to he Messiah of the extreme right, Bush, who left office with approval rating of 28%).
But their hate towards Clinton pales in comparison with their visceral hatred of Obama. Now Obama haters are rejoicing that his approval rating has slipped. Well, it is customary for a president’s approval rating to drop six months into his term. When a president starts, he has plenty of good will for him. But as soon as he starts implementing his agenda, his approval drops especially among those who don’t like his agenda. Even though his approval rating is about where it was for Clinton and Bush at this time in their terms, to listen to far right, Obama is finished, done for, kaput.
That is to be expected. It remains to be seen if the extreme right wing nuts can convince Americans that Obama is a spawn of the Devil, that he is a Muslim terrorist, an illegal alien. Personally, my money is on Obama.

I quite agree, JLM. Being passionately hated by the extremist nuts on the other side is part of the job.
Extreme right hated Clinton with a passion, they spent 100 million dollars of taxpayers money (in the form of conservative Republican, Kenneth Starr) trying to dig up some dirt on Clinton, they impeached him on a trumped up, political charge (a gross abuse of impeachment process), but nothing worked.
Clinton was a moderate, left of centre politician. Obama is a liberal and proud of it, and he makes no bones about it. The first time in recent memory Americans have elected a truly liberal president (what passes for liberal in USA anyway). Far right just cannot stand it. Indeed, I have seen some extreme right wing nuts say that they wished Hillary was the president, evidently extreme right would have preferred that to Obama being the president.
And this after calling Hillary Lucifer. If they would prefer Lucifer over Obama, you can imagine the intense, visceral, passionate hatred far right feels about Obama. They are probably seething with anger, ever since the day he was elected.
But as you rightly point out, it is all part of the job.
