in revelation12:9 it says he decieves the whole world.

I have read the Bible, and I get the impression that Devil is as strong and powerful as God. A while ago we were discussing the story of Job, and that story illustrates vividly that God and Devil are coworkers, may be in some office in a higher dimension, the office whose job it is to look after our three dimensional universe.
Besides, I have always seen Devil referred to as a ‘he’, why? Devil could very easily be a woman. In fact, seeing how the Devil manipulates God and almost invariably has her way (many times God is frustrated when dealing with the Devil, God loses and he doesn’t know what hit him), I would say chances are very high the Devil is a woman.
All kidding aside, I agree with Liberalman, the Devil is inside us. So is God, there is a bit of God and a bit of devil in all of us.

Why attach a sex to God or the Devil at all. Then again, since we are starting to lose the Y chromosome, we may have just been a experiment gone wrong, and God is a female playing with us and correcting her mistakes. These beings were around a lot longer than any story in the Bible. Since they managed to have a war with each other, I tend to think they both are Gods and as in any war one lost.

Man needed to rationalize his existence and label everything , even the things he doesn't understand.
The concept of good and bad starts with physical sensation and then emotional.
On a psychological level , its only there to point the blame or praise .
The human shell is just temporary . What we really are is beyond this IMO and beliefs. I do not believe in this spiritual hierarchy nor of a dominant being of any sort.
Our will is ours alone. We are responsible for the choices we make and what we accept. Not God nor Devil has any power over us ...... period!

Yessiree!!! Gods and devils are externalizations of aspects of the human psyche that people are afraid to own, to take responsibility for. We are our own god and devil and the difference has to do with your own sense of right and wrong. You can only avoid your own divinity for so long. Sooner or later you will realize the truth. Holy books were written to imprison the minds of humans so they can be manipulated and controlled by the ruling class. Hell and heaven are right here on earth. To live your life based on a reward in the after life is a complete waste of life.

Christians are deceived by their own self righteousness, their own beliefs in fairy tales. They don't need the devil, they do a fine job all on their own.
Depends who's book you believe, supposedly the Devil is still out there tempting man. Neither won a clear cut victory like us.
God and Satan are ends of the same stick. A little bit to the left and you're a rotten bastard a little bit to the right and you're a saintly aspirant. You have to aim for the middle.
