I found a little bunch of those once and they don't stink. You can play with them all you want. They don't develop their scent glands until a few months old. Also, at about two months old they suddenly realize they are supposed to be nocturnal and stop coming out in the daytime. Moms asleep when they are out and about.

Awwww! You're no fun, Cliffy. It would have been a lot better to have Ron painted as a fellow who enjoys watching kids get sprayed by skunks and then send the video to 'America's Funniest Home Videos'.;-):p:lol:

....one .22 BBcap solved both problems.....And I guess the cat owner must have got the word because I never had to wash the back door for that reason again.....

When we lived on our acreage in Fort St John, a few families would let their dogs roam free, chasing deer, other dogs, defecating on our lawns, etc. Because we had no by-law to speak of, the only time we could get these dogs enforced by anyone was if wildlife were chased. But, crapping on lawns etc. went ignored.

Well one day one of the neighbours phoned the RCMP and said 'my neighbour's been shooting my dog with an air rifle when it's on his property, and I want to know what my legal recourse is.' The cop informed him that if the dog was on HIS property, the neighbour had no legal recourse. He thanked the officer, hung up the phone, picked up his air rifle, and shot the dog having its morning dump on his lawn. lol. Just an air rifle, nothing lethal, but it solved much of the problem for him.

Yesterday, Pyewacket, the cat that lives with us, pulled down one of the birdhouses and killed the two baby chickadees that were in it. Ultimately, I guess it was my fault. A couple years ago I screwed the birdhouse to a tree. I guess the screws weren't long enough and they pulled out with the additional weight of the cat on it.

A new neighbour moved right beside us, a few years ago, and their dog ran free,
and pooped on our lawn, every day, so I scooped up all the poop as it was delivered
and made a nice pile of 'poop' right at their gate inside their yard. When it was
convenient, I told them it was me who had returned the poop to them, as it belonged to their dog, and it wasn't acceptable for the dog to leave it in our yard.
That worked fine, they corrected the problem, and we became friends.
To kill an animal for pooping is 'sick', and seems to reflect on the gun owners weak
personality, as he is unable to handle the problem in a mature and mentally strong
way.
If the dog had been attacking his child, or something as dangerous, it would be
understandable.
A violant act like killing a pet, or any animal, because you don't like what it is
doing, just shows that you don't know how to take care of a problem face-to-face,
and also, you don't have any 'caring' of animals in your heart.
I would respect that gun owner more, if he had the guts to approach the dog
owner, and they got into a fight over it, as it so easy to hurt/kill an animal
who hasn't the intelligence to even know what your up to.
After the fact, the gun owner was probably satisfied, that is also disturbing.

Rope works. Nails and screws damage trees ... and REALLY mess with chainsaws - especially operators....

I used epoxy coated stainless steel screws that weren't supposed to damage the tree. A chainsaw operator should be especially careful in a residential area. My screws were definitely not the first screws in that tree.
