For "Joe six pack". He doesn't even know where Canada is. He might possible think it's "up there" somewhere. Hell, he can't even find Iowa even if he lives in the next state
Tyr, I recited this anecdote on the canada.com forum (you may recall it), but I think it is worth quoting here in this context. This is from an Anne Landers columns many years ago, one of the letters in the column.
A family from Iowa was visiting their friends in New York. Somebody asked them where they live. They replied that they live in Iowa. Back came the reply “Well, OK, but here we pronounce it as Ohio”.
