If Frank McKenna had run for Leadership of the Liberals he would have made a good candidate for that position of driving the country to the centre right of Paul Martin economic policies. But you cannot force a man to run.. Being Centre right on economic policy I would much rather this approach..

If Frank McKenna had run for Leadership of the Liberals, I might very well have voted
Liberal in this last Federal Election.

You can play with figures all you want. When it comes to PO & Co., you just know its going to hurt you where you don't want it to.

Ahhhhh....I wasn't inventing a story Avro, I was asking a question to which
it seems you just aren't willing to answer. Oh well...That's sort of an answer
unto itself.

You where content with wishful thinking as an excuse to complain, and I was
asking about the reality of the options in the choice we just had...and thus the
phrasing of my question "to take this beyond the realm of wishful thinking and
to validate your statement, and thus your complaint, which one....etc..."

Feel free to read that at any speed you wish. You aren't willing to answer that?
Fine. I'm OK with that. I was looking for an answer, not a p*ssing match. That
I could find on any Religion Thread. I've pretty much had enough for one night
anyway. Some other time then I guess. Hope you enjoy the rest of your Birth
Day and have yourself a good night.

You didn't ask a question at all.

You just stumbled and fumbled your way through a transparent defense of cons.

Typical and sad.

Hither and yon
Oh goody, another con steering us into deficit becasue they can't control spending and cut taxes to reduce revenue. What we need is a Lib like Paul Martin to get us out of this mess like he did before. It only took the cons 2 years to erase the decade of Liberal surpluses...nice work cons.

Funny you should mention Paul.
It seems more and more old-time Liberal Party members are beginning to feel the same way as Avro.

The behind the scenes hacks have been muttering quitely about a draft Paul Martin for leader campaign for weeks now.
Apparently the preordained Iggy/Bob runoff is not inspiring as much confidence as was originally hoped for.

Paul Martin can be criticized by some for his tenure as PM.
Few deny that he was a solid, reliable and very experienced Liberal Finance Minister(assuming this sentence is not by definition a contradiction).

His business and industry skills prior to government service are well established.
He was even slick enough to offshore his multimillion dollar corporation Canada Steamship
LInes in order to dodge Canadian taxes.
This man knows how big business works and what it needs to survive.

The MSM has not yet solidly confirmed the "draft Paul Martin campaign".
Insider publications like the Hill Times are saying its real and is happening.

The only fly in the ointment is Paul himself.
Why the hell would he put himself through it again?

Great pay, great pension, great job, union sucks.

Gee, debate with yourself much Walt?

I guess you have time considering public employees don't actually work for a living they just stand around sucking on the teet of those that really earn a living. If you hate the union so much quit and get a real job.

We will see the Cons running for cover come 2010. They think that they will cut public donations so they can get a financial advantage over the opposition and thus secure a majority Government next election. Given the sneaky and cheating morals the Cons are about, they will get hurt at the end more then they will benefit by playing the Con secret agenda.....Can’t wait to see them fall.
