I take it back...you're not a heartless bastard..you're a useless prick.
That's not very nice gerry, we shouldn't overreact with our mouth because of simple differences of opinion, it's no way to discuss issues.

Numbnuts, he was right about the sympathy vote. Get your head out of your butt and think for a change...

I don't care who you are - losing a member of your family is a hard thing. By all accounts, he was very close with his grandmother, and I'm sure he's feeling the loss.
Some things just shouldn't ever be fodder for mocking.
Death of a loved one - that's one of 'em.
Some things should just never be mocked, this monster isn't one of them. I'm sure he's feeling only what's advantageous to him and no one else. That's only my opinion but I'm very sure that I'm right. He loves nothing, not family, friends or country.
I know how I felt when my grandfather died just 2 weeks before his first grandchild was born.
How many peoples sons daughters grandmothers babies starved to death today or were blown to a thousand bloody little pieces? The man is a celebrity politician and his life is a cheap soap opera, more opiate for the masses. Do you or did you feel for any of them and did you express condolances for them, or is it only the powerful nearing coronation that you bleed for? You will all live to regret you're confidence in this monster of that I am very sure and you won't have long to wait to see the things true purpose.
This person is more to him than a grandmother. She raised him when his mother passed away. She is basically his mom. He is her son. He is one day away from one of the most remarkable accomplishments of our time. That accomplishment is also her's. She could've written the text book for raising kids. The one she raised is like no one I've seen before.
DB
when we cease to have human responses to human experiences - whether it's to an tragedy in Iraq or in America - what's the point of 'railing against the machine' anymore? What are you trying to preserve if not that which defines us not just as humans, but as humane humans?
Selectively applying humane responses is one step closer to relinquishing your hold on your own humanity.
DB - I just flat out don't believe you.
Statements like the one I just quoted - they have no place in a thread about a man's dead grandmother. He's commented many many times about this woman and the great impact she had upon his life, his belief system. This is undoubtedly a huge blow for him - you may have beliefs about this man's suitability to hold office - but that doesn't justify using his loss to try and illustrate your point - your ends don't justify your means.
I doubt there's anyone in the world you could say that comment about - everyone - yes, DB, everyone cares about someone or something. Even you.
Maybe the parents aren't able to raise the kids, maybe they are drug addicts or in jail...Curiosity: Why are so many children of `colour` raised by their Grandmothers or Grandparents in the United States?

And why do we not here that `happening` in Canada?Maybe the parents aren't able to raise the kids, maybe they are drug addicts or in jail...
Smart woman; got out when the going was good; didn't want to see Barry screw up and become Jimmy Carter II.

Yes, that is the case, and no money.
