Does Justin have what it takes to make his old man proud?

The large part is the fact that you are here?
BTW-----I am still waiting for the list off ALL the Headquarters/Head Offices that left Quebec----did it slip your mind?

The following book could help out with the list I suppose.

Québec Gouvernement du Québec par / by david nicholson
[So let the family buy school Books?] (saved); December 27 Stress in Québec ... 506 head offices left Montreal for Toronto between 1976 & 1996

Toronto has by far the most head offices.
Followed now by Calgary.
It wasn't always that way.
Montreal was once a strong number two for head offices.

I really don't know enough about Justin to know the answer, but for now I would have to say no he's not ready to lead.

A politician is like wine vintage the older the vintage the better the taste, If Justin gets involved in politics with the passion his dad did we may see the Trudeaumanya sequel that rocked Canada in the 60's and 70' ............

And we may see him forced into it the way his old man was.

Hey we are talking late 60s, trudeau era, remember? I know Sunlife for sure, a couple of banks, can't remember which and either CNR or CPR. can't remember which. Sorry I can't be more specific at this time. After all I was just a teenager then...

Sun Life, Royal Trust, CIBC, CN, CP, Air Canada. Feel free to Google it because I do remember the exodus - from the Trudeau years through refferendum to 1996 - and I recall Parizeau and Bouchard both blustering it didn't matter if big industry left because the Quebec economy runs on small business (paraphrased but not quoted)

Sorry, but I think Justin is miles away from the tree.

And I have no doubt that those head offices are doing just fine under the tutelage of Ontarioans.

.....and that was a nasty bit of work on your part giving Risus that info.
Another time, Trex.

Justin has decisively stated he will not stand in the leadership review.
So this time there is zero chance.

Justin is no dummy and he is without question recieving advice from the Lib backroom boys.

The pollsters, spin doctors, marketing and branding wizards, bagmen( whoops I mean fundraisers), policy analysts, old time Lib advisors, war room captains and the Lib academic
hangers on have cast the chicken bones and in regards to Justin the answer is not yet.

Best to season young Justin for a spell.
Untried, untested, unapproved, unblooded, unfunded, unexpierenced and probably unelectable is he.

If the Libs remain in opposition young Justin can polish up his attack rhetoric in the house.
Learn how to give a speech, handle the media, manipulate the unwashed masses.
Let the next sacrifice (err I mean Leader of the opposition) try to dig the party out of the hole in which in now resides.
Watch and learn, that is young Justins mission.

Then the marketing guru's can test the waters to see if Justin truely is as charismatic as dear old Dad.
Maybe a new Kennedy or an Obama.
Or perhaps just an ordinary young teacher.

Could anyone have achieved what he did at his father's funeral?

Besides he is a Trudeau, that's enough and more than this country deserves. Do you think that he and his brothers were playing games at night when their father was around. They were being educated into what they might face in this country if any decided to go the political route.

All I read here is how bad PET was for the country, but at least he had the balls to speak his mind honestly and truthfully unlike the the sad sack politicians we have now.

He did what was necessary when the situation warranted it and didn't care about reprisals.

He had the courage of his convictions. He told Canadians things that were the the truth and didn't give a damn whether they believed him or not.

He more than once told a member of the opposition to go f-themselves because he knew that he was right and they just didn't care.

Justin will make his father proud, because he has the same attitude, honesty and qualities.

This country is so f'd up it needs Justin, and it needs him now.

By the way Colpy as you an ardent hater of PET and what he did, what would you or anyone else have done.?

Were you there during the FLQ crisis? Were you in downtown Montreal or its suburbs and out-lying towns. No, you were not but I was and everyone was horrified and scared and Trudeau solved that problem.
But that is the past and it cannot be changed .
What you want is a candy-ass gov't.
What you want is a mouth-piece for everyone that holds office.

You are one sad Canadian.

He nailed it right on the head. P.E.T. was one of THE best Prime Ministers Canada ever had. The best Prime Minister in my life time. If Justin is even half the man his father was, Canada could do no better with him at the helm.

And you are a sad waste skin. I was in Montreal and I can say everyone was NOT scared. That is just your slant on things.
The man just chased business away from Quebec. He was a closet communist, and had no respect for his fellow Canadians.
