73 per cent of Canadian Muslims describe themselves as "very proud" to be called Canadians, even if many of them see their religion as coming first in certain instances. As well, they have very little sympathy for extremists or terrorist groups.

Asked about the arrests last summer of the 18 Muslim men and boys who were allegedly plotting terrorist attacks in southern Ontario, 73 per cent of the Muslim respondents said these attacks were not at all justified and 82 per cent said they had no sympathy for those who wanted to carry them out.

Glad to be Canadian, Muslims say - Canada - CBC News

Does the truth upset you that much?

Were you hoping for some Sharia love to help peddle your ideological bull****?

Coherence is a wonderful thing......you should try it.

Islam is both a religious and a political philosophy, that celebrates the genocide of Jews and the suppression of all other ideologies......by force if necessary.

So answer the question......what is the difference between a Muslim and a Nazi?????

Why not? Domestic violence knows no religious or social boundaries.

This is hardly a case of typical domestic violence in which a single person loses control and freaks out......this is a conspiracy to murder in support of an ideology....BIG difference.

I think some people have fallen into the deep end.

If you can't figure out the difference between a Muslim and a Nazi, there's not much hope for you.
And if you believe that all Muslims are the same, there's not much hope for you either.

For similiar reasons there are negative perceptions of Catholics. Because both faiths have a real issue with legitimacy. In the case of the Catholic Church, abuse, pedophilia and conspiracy to protect child molesters in the last century and this one have marred their reputation considerably.

In the case of Islam, suicide bombing, oppression, murder, fanaticism, Sharia all do well to focus negative optics on the religion as a whole simply because there is so much of it around the world.

In reality, both religions are made up of descent people, but until the both faiths pro-actively separate themselves from the taint, they will be stained by those who have used their faith for selfish reasons.

Here on CC you will find many who defend Islam calling Catholics Pedophiles and such, but will cry foul or toss out ye old race card if you mention the disgusting behavior of someone who proclaims to be a Muslim.

TV and the idiots who watch it?
Nope. I watch the news. It doesn't talk about Muslims unless they have done something bad (again). Radio too. Newspapers are more likely to give Muslims bad press.

Well said; people are people, and not everyone in a large group is the same.
It seems to be hard for many to grasp that, far easier to use a broad brush and label all members of a group as the same.

The Muslim families I knew and helped were quiet reserved families. They came to this country as refugees. They went to school to learn the language and more. Some of them did. Some of them already spoke english well and were well educated. They love our Christmas and wanted to have a Christmas tree. They were from Albania but - when they had a loss in the family, the Muslim community gathered around. They contributed money to help the family through the hard times. There were more East Indian people in the Funeral Home than white muslims. Muslims helping Muslims. No one in that room appeared threatening in any way. Just people coming together in a time of need.

A lot of immigrants come from countries where the consequence of speaking out is death or worse. It is understandable that their first reaction is silence rather than vocal outrage. It takes a long time to 'trust' when you have grown up with 'distrust'. So even if they condem the actions of fellow Muslims, they may not jump up at the streetcorner to denounce it.

Not according to moderate muslims.

Unless you believe all muslims are extremist muslims.

In which case..
