Canadian (and American for that matter) are the most aggressive drivers!

well how can you?
I'm waiting for your answer. You were the one that did so in the OP.

two totally different societies! they live in a world unlike ours!
Now you're getting it.

they don't all have Digital TV with 200+ channels to choose from. or the latest computers! IPADS and IPODS.. Blu Ray players.. 60 inch TV's..
True.

they live a very simple but (in many cases..) satisfying lives.
By whose standards? Have you a stat to support that claim?

we always comment and say how Cuba is so far behind us.. much of that is because the USA feels the need to crucify a country that they no longer have power over! and of course they hate that! so punish them for taking away one of their vacation spots!
Again, back to the big bad US of A eh?

yes they do live under a Socialist govt. but they do get excellent education and health coverage.
Which is why the wealthy and politically affluent go to other countries for treatment.

we're just so used to growing up with all these things given to us! like TV and Cars and Phones and big awesome houses.
Nobody gave me my house, my car, my toys. I worked for them all. Your projecting. Likely a folly of youth.

ya but they run fine! they don't need the latest models to be satisfied.
Except those in the high places right?

The regular working class can't afford such luxuries.

They may not need them but they sure do want them. There is no shortage of new autos either. There are plenty of Jap and Euro made vehicles.

BUT.....Last time I was there I was ready to take a hammer and sickle to the Soviet AC in the cabana.

ya I hear ya. my vacation in Cuba had poor AC. they got it working better than before but it still wasn't great.

absolutely not.
Sure looks like it from here.

I was just making comments about what's going on in this thread now.
America the bad is in this thread now? Where?

to get back to my point...
That would be the point even you think is "retarded"?

Drivers in Canada and USA are very dangerous.. compared to the drivers in places like Cuba and Colombia.
Got some stats to prove that?
and ya I see the videos and pictures.. of intersections and traffic issues. but that's not the drivers fault, that's the cities fault for poor traffic control and intersection development.
But we here in North America don't get that consideration? Hmmm, interesting.

very few cities anywhere in the world have perfect traffic conditions!
But only those cities that you like get a pass?

there's always an intersection somewhere that was poorly designed and causes issues.
Except in North America where it's the drivers fault. Gotchya!

well, remember.. from history, before the Revolution in Cuba in 1959, the Americans basically ran that country. they had their own leader that they supported in there, they had many companies in Cuba making their foods and other stuff. it was a place of luxury and relaxation for many Famous Americans.

it was like their getaway!

But there were problems with other things that they really didn't care about.

So suddenly Castro and his men come in and take over Cuba and force out all the American companies and their leader, and basically change the country to what they wanted instead of what the USA wanted.

so the US govt got angry that they no longer had what they used to have in Cuba. and decided to punish them..

Why did you even bring them into the thread then? Have you been anywhere else in the world to see how they drive there? North America is mild - even with its insane volumes of traffic.
Excellent questions and a decent observation.

you're putting words into my mouth.

I never said except in North America. I said EVERYWHERE!.. you don't read too well do you? perhaps a Gr 6 level?

Edmonton has a number of intersections that are stupid! poorly built and dangerous, leading a lot of drivers that get into accidents.

but that doesnt' excuse the aggressive driving manner that they show.

speeding, tailgating, getting upset at the person in the right lane who's going the speed limit! abusing the green arrows to the max, running red lights, parking like they're trying to use up as many spaces as they can..

Excellent questions and a decent observation.

just trying to make a point.

No I'm not.

No you jumped to "everywhere" after you realized you weren't going to get away with your generalized unprovable claims. You'r words exactly are...

We are extremely aggressive and angry drivers.

from what we saw out there, they are very calm and mild mannered for driving and the only honking was to let the person ahead of them know they were about to pass them. it wasn't because they were angry or frustrated or IMPATIENT!

it's a more aggressive and impatient driver.

Edmonton has a number of intersections that are stupid! poorly built and dangerous, leading a lot of drivers that get into accidents.
That's true, but that's not what you have been implying.

but that doesnt' excuse the aggressive driving manner that they show.
Who's they?

speeding, tailgating, getting upset at the person in the right lane who's going the speed limit! abusing the green arrows to the max, running red lights, parking like they're trying to use up as many spaces as they can..
And you think this is strictly a North American problem?

Dude, you need to travel more.

just trying to make a point.
I see that, but the point you're making, isn't the point you think you're making.

Why do you say that? Is the USA stopping them from buying TV's and getting with the rest of the world.

The only thing we are doing to them...is not doing anything to them. We have no dealings with them so how is that crucifying them?

Taking away whose vacation spots?

Yes Castro came in and took over, kicked the Americans out and that was that.

So what is the big deal? He got what he wanted and now you want to whine about it?

Yankee Go Home!

Well Yankee went home and they've been crying like a bunch of b***** since.

The US with their Embargo has really crushed Cuba's ability to bring in anything that the Americans have.

luckily some countries have ignored this whole Embargo and helps them out.

but it's not enough because American help would make their country much better than it is now.

Ya, don't you remember all those movies that the US used to make in Cuba? and all those movie stars and politicians that used to visit Cuba on a regular basis and would vacation there and some even had a 2nd home there..

well ya that too.. but how much of that was Russia forcing them to do this? and how much of it was Castro wanting to help?

They weren't forcing the Cubans. They were helping the Cubans and the Cubans wanted the missles there. Castro told Kruschev to nuke the USA and Nikita said

"Are you crazy? The US and Soviet Union will survive but Cuba will be completely destroyed."

So, as I said...Yankee went home so stop whinning about it. It's what they wanted.

You do realize that that embargo is as toothless as 99 year old Squaw right?

luckily some countries have ignored this whole Embargo and helps them out.
Woe!!! And yet the US is still crushing them? You can't have it both ways chili.

but it's not enough because American help would make their country much better than it is now.
But I thought all Americans were simply obsessed with their own greed? Can they really offer some help here?
Ya, don't you remember all those movies that the US used to make in Cuba? and all those movie stars and politicians that used to visit Cuba on a regular basis and would vacation there and some even had a 2nd home there..
Do you remember all the property and industry that Cuba expropriated without paying a single dime?

The Americans didn't like being kicked out! that's why they did all they did, to punish the Cubans for getting kicked out.
And don't forget the theft of American property without compensation!

why should they be compensated? it was never theirs to begin with? it should have always been Cuban land for the Cuban people, not Americans.
Cool, so you can be pushed off your land, so me and my people can take it back now?

Good call, can I have your address so I can have my mail forwarded to my new address?

Have you any idea the absurdity of that notion you just expressed?

When I say property, I mean land, vehicles, buildings, equipment and industries.

All built with the US green back.

I freely admit and understand the virtual rape that was going on in Cuba, by and for American interests. That's what fueled Castro's revolution. But to say so what and then justify theft, you leave yourself open to exposed as a screaming hypocrite.

So I ask again, can you please forward me my new address, I'll pass it on to my moving company, so my furniture arrives before me.
