MSNBC’s Race-Obsessed Toure: Blacks Killing White Slaveowners Morally Justified…

Via Daily Caller:
MSNBC personality Toure, currently a co-host of the cable network’s mid-day chat show “The Cycle,” declared on his blog Monday that it’s morally acceptable for slaves to kill their owners.

Toure made the declaration on toure.com, in a review of Quentin Tarantino’s new slavery-themed action film “Django Unchained.”

“For the descendants of slaves, who live in a world still tangibly doused in slavery’s residue, watching Django kill his oppressors could possibly feel cathartic. If murder can ever be morally justified by the presence of clear, undiluted, sustained evil — and I believe it can — then it is justified when a slave kills a master,” Toure wrote.

Toure spent the majority of his review discussing the film’s racial implications, ultimately concluding that “Django” is not racist because it depicts black slaves killing white slaveowners, and Toure finds that empowering.

“Django is heroic not just for rescuing his wife but also for spreading justice by putting slavemasters in the grave. It’s honestly baffling to me that smart people could find Django’s slavemaster killings as anything other than heroic,” Toure wrote.

I am starting to think life itself is becoming a fantasy. People equate what is happening in
movies, on social media videos and TV soaps as reality,. Even the news hours today are
trying to compete with little features and entertainment news. You go to a social gathering
and people talk about movie characters and scenes as if they were real.
I suppose its the reason I don't go to movies, its vampires, transformers, animated characters,
things blowing up and I am not into that at all.
It comes down to who cares about an entertainment persons opinion or an actor for that
matter they are just cookie cutter actors no a days anyway.

Regardless of whether the touch-point of this issue is in a movie or not; the notion that Toure applies the idea of 'moral justification' to this specific issue opens the door to anyone subjectively applying the same to their individual issues.

I can only imagine that (racial) hate groups will be happier than a pig in sh!t as they can use this as a convenient excuse to pursue their own agendas.

If its a discussion of history I'd agree. I have little to no sympathy for slave owners who were killed by their slaves regardless of the period. If he's trying to incite some sort of modern race war then I'd disagree.

Judging by how much these big blockbusters make and how many people buy tabloids I'd say far too many care too much about what celebrities think and do.

Deciding on when murder is justified is a line in the sand. If this scenario is/was deemed acceptable, then what about the next guy down the line not quite so evil? Slippery slope.

Not necessarily. We are allowed by law to kill under certain circumstances. Self defense being the main one.

Suppose for a moment the moral authority crowd decided the position in the movie
was valid. it is up to the courts to determine that it is not valid based on the current
precepts of law. It is the responsibility of the state to prosecute the offenders and
not allow such entertainment positions to be entered into evidence. Entertainment
is of course fantasy and therefore should not be part of a court proceeding.
Outside to the movie scene the fullest extent of prosecution should be levied.
The law should deal with law and not a movie script.
Let the imprisoned offenders sue the movie makers in civil court, that too would fall
on deaf ears, as people stupid enough to act on a movies version of events deserve
what they get and they should get five extra years for stupidity

You forgot war as a justification of murder. But first, years of propaganda are needed to sufficiently demonize the enemy so killing them can be justified.
