God forbid you're kid should ever adopt a different Faith. I knew of one man, born into a missionary Christian family, married to a woman from a missionary Christian family, and then he changed Faiths. Ouch.

If your kids ever adopt a new Faith, I'd strongly advise they seek out police protection pronto.

He's just having another manual seizure over the keyboard. He can't help it.

f*ck you, you useless peice of sh*t....you have no ****ing clue about the hows and whys of my childrens upbringing or my reactions to their lifes decissions. Keep your personal bullsh*t observations up your ass where they belong.

good thing my kids are finished with the public system.....cause I'd blow anybodys head off that f*cked with my kids religious upbringing.
And that wouldn't be particularly bright because the result would be you committing an infraction of the ten commandments and a couple human laws as well, which likely would result in your kids being without a father for a fairly long period of time.

Sort of like I am a devout follower of Christianity, but only when it serves my purpose.

...and the difference between that and a suicide bomber are?
Or a pro-life nutbar who kills to protect life. lol

I don't give a rats ass anymore....I'm f*cking sick and tired of all these "non believers" sticking their f*cking nose into things that don't concern them. Things that are none of their f*cking business. Things that undermine my (a parents) f*cking authority.
Aaahhh, so you prefer to assert your control over others by losing it over yourself?

Gerryh, I really am getting concerned about your health.

Are you sure you're getting the recommended eight hours of sleep every day? Cut back on the caffeine; maybe you're getting too much stimulation from it. Cut back on the meat, milk and eggs too. With all the hypertension going though your veins you want to keep the cholesterol down to a minimum.

Have you tried prayer and mediation? Listen to some baroque music for about 30 minutes every morn and eve while reading the Good Book (you know, the one that teaches not to blow people's heads off in a fit of rage).

We wouldn't want you dying on your keyboard resulting from a blown artery. We love you too much for that.

My father's and the church's iron fisted authority is what turned me against him and the church. It probably had a lot to do with why I rejected society and authority in general and moved out into the forest. There I adapted the spiritual practices of the aboriginal people because their views of the Creator and Mother Earth are so much more gentle and benevolent. Your rigidity may eventually have the same effect on your kids. You might want to tone it down a notch, before you blow a blood vessel.

We love you too, Gerryh.

Ever try yoga, tai chi, or some other relaxing art? Or heck, even just going for a stroll or a bicycle ride?

You see Ger, we really do love you.

Gardening's quite relaxing too, as is cooking with the family.

Gawd. Enough already. This thread is about religious schooling and rules applicable to them, not gerry's impending aneurism.

and IMO people who don't have kids should keep their damn mouth shut about raising kids.

The course should be positive and productive, as there are so many who are 'not' religious at all,
and also those who practice 'one' specific religion and know nothing about the others, it is just
a course to enlighten people as to 'how others' believe or not.

I know many who don't believe in god at all, but they also know nothing about religion, and are not
interested in any of it, actually no different than those who know nothing about history, geography,
and other subjects, but when those courses are completed, they know more, (hopefully) lol

And those who have no interest in believing in god, still don't have to, but at least they will have
some knowledge of 'what' religions are, and how they each differ from one another.

I don’t think I agree with that. There are exceptions obviously, but I think most Atheists are quite knowledgeable about different world religion. Indeed, that is ho w most of them become atheists, very few are born into Atheism (perhaps the proportion may be higher in the next generation).

Most Atheists have studied at least major world religions in some detail, come to the conclusion that none of them represent the truth (although they all claim to represent the truth) and so became Atheists.

But I think many of them tend to be very knowledgeable about religion.

From what I have seen on this forum, atheists are, without any doubt, (or at least claim to be) the greatest experts on every single topic. To their minds, anyone who disagrees with them on any subject, is nothing but a redneck, extremist fool.

Where do the Satanists stand in the rankings?
