19th century courtship rituals! Wow, I knew Mark Steyn would have nothing to say about gender relations, but I wasn't expecting that doozie. Bravo you glorious twit.

that's alarming

I admit, I don't get it
It's about the mental model of "rape." Just as when the Monica Lewinsky scandal resulted in a poll with a very large percentage of men saying a BJ ain't "sex," lots of men simply don't perceive that forcing a woman is rape. Their mental model of rape is the classic stranger rape, where a man accosts a woman in a lonely place and by force or threat, makes her submit.

They don't get that "pushing it," or holding down a reluctant "partner," or "passionately" grabbing her and penetrating her, isn't sexual politics, isn't courtship rituals, it's rape.

Oh, is that what Wank Stain was on about? Well, not surprising. He's a pretty nineteenth-century kinda guy.

I don't get what makes them choose that type of sex

Lack of education and lack of empathy might play a role in it.

I require 100% enthusiastic participation from my partner(s). Anything less and I might as well masterbate. It'd be more fun.

but why don't they understand it... I have never been around men that didn't get it so I truly am baffled...

even the guys I partied with in high school and we were under aged and got drunk almost every weekend together, would not have touched a naked drunk passed out girl...they would not have

they would have covered her up...I know they would have...we got falling down drunk, I never even got touched inappropriately,
so what has changed... I am confused

I think, as usual, he is dead on..... :)

Were did you find the gif?? I would have thought filming in the Home for the Intellectually Challenged would be frowned upon.

I think you grew up in a pretty wonderful place.

I think what's changed is that women are now talking about sexual assault instead of pulling up their panties and trying to forget it happened.

I don't know...I worked at the hospital in the kitchen, we all partied together...one guy had super wealthy parents who went out a lot...we got drunk all of the time at his place and all the guys always were awesome

I think I have been super lucky or something because we all took care of each other, male and female, no one left another alone around others, and when someone got sick someone was always okey dokey with barf patrol too...

so being around guys who think it's okay to take advantage of women is bizarre to me...maybe I just have really good people instincts.. I don't know

lots of us are still in contact from kindergarten
