I currently live in the NWT and lived in Nunavut before. The supposed non-partisan system is not all it is cracked up to be. Nunavut is a sea of corruption with several MLA"s with criminal records or currently facing criminal charges. Not much better in the NWT. Many here now want party politics. Yukon was once non-partisan but went to party politics and their system is now much better.

"Without political parties we will have 300 MPs with 300 different agendas, most of them favoring their local constituency. It will be every riding for itself, every region for itself, and Devil take the hindmost."- I THINK that is probably what we have now. What we need more than a non partisan Parliamentary system is a "non lying P.S." I haven't read up on what the philosophy of the various Parties are or even know if it's in writing as it applies to the Canadian political system. Maybe that's where we begin, get it carved in stone and then any politician who says he's something when he's not should be charged with fraud and false representation. It's a blood wonder these guys aren't bumping into each other and knocking each other out crossing the floor.
