WASHINGTON— Returning to his bellicose trade rhetoric, U.S. President
Donald Trump warned Friday that he would cause the “ruination” of Canada
if he imposed tariffs on Canadian-made cars.

Trump issued the threat during another day of North American Free Trade
Agreement negotiations that did not produce a deal between the U.S. and
Canada. Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland continued to describe
the talks as constructive but provided no details. “I don’t want to do anything
bad to Canada. I can — all I have to do is tax their cars, it would be devastating.
If I tax cars coming in from Canada, it would be devastating,” he continued,
according to a pool reporter travelling with him.

Once the confused, frightened and cowardly GOP types are weeded out, the malignants who support Trump through thick and thin are a family marginal minority. They're like the core of the old Nazi party.

Trump has gone rogue......and going "roguer"..The multiple stresses are just making him crazier.and potentially dangerous.

The fact he is even verbalising "ruining" Canada.........is insane.

This is not a foundation for any kind of national policy and hopefully, enough legislators in the USA will realize that and pull the plug on this Looney Tune.

I suspect many realise that he is not fit for the job. Evidence is in that oped. From a psych point of view......that article is spot on. I also think that most are more concerned about their jobs and the power that their job gives them. Not sure what that lunatic has to do before they arrange for men in white coats. If it was just a series of legal issues.......it might be easier to deal with........but the obvious PSYCH issues are making it a new territory for everyone .....and it seems many would rather just close their eyes to it. The role of POTUS is intimidating to many......and thus they might be "palliated to do what is called for. Like a private psych assessment........ not what Trump had done......as that did not test for pathology.

In some ways I see that OPED article.......... as a cry for help. I could be wrong.....but Don't see a malignant coup .......

Quebec and Ontario are 65% of the Canadian population though
(25% & 40% respectively). The irony is that 100% of the automotive
industry is also found in these same two provinces that Trump is
threatening to clobber Canada with in an extortion-like negotiation
method like the mafia would use.

It's a telling tale about the thuggish character of the current US
leader. We in Canada know we have a trust fund dud for our PM,
but I (in all honesty) had higher hopes for Donald Trump. I thought
he would come in with the mind of a true businessman instead of
this spoiled vindictive man-child.
