Multiculturalism isn't a policy. It's a reality. Canada is multicultural country as in there are multiple cultures in Canada.

Is it good? Maybe. But it would be worse to force people to change or abandon their culture. Freedom of speech and belief are fundamental tenets of our society. You cannot deny people their culture without violating their freedom of thought and speech.

A guess the fact that Kathleen Wynne is just a corrupt politician kissing everyone's *** collectively is more about buying political capital then endorsing a big happy multicultural family, is completely lost on everyone eh?

I was impressed by two posters lately.

This first speaks of how multiculturalism works in small numbers but that in larger numbers, the only thing you get is what Canada has with the aboriginal community. Mostly slums and ghettoes with the odd success story. That is also what the E U seems to be getting as well.

This next clip speaks of what made the U.Sl.; and to me, Canada greater in the past than it is today.

I do not like the fact that we seem to have had to have more religiosity than we do today and I dislike religions.
Especially the mainstream as they are all homophobic and misogynist.

If some here are white, this may be of interest.

Herodotus wrote about Greek multiculturalism which took place well before he was born. He spent about one tenth of his book The Histories discussing how Greeks learned civilization from Egyptians. While many of the far right hate multiculturalism, it remains an inevitable fact of life because it's just human nature to expand its horizons and to grow.

Kathleen Wynne insists that multiculturalism is the greatest thing, we MUST promote it!
I'm wondering, what is so good about it? Why do we need it? I can't think of one reason that makes it so desirable.
I think multiculturalism is divisive to society.
On the one hand politicians call for unity On the other hand they promote multiculturalism. One is contrary to the other. Uni = ONE,
Multi= many. We can't have one and many at the same time.
There is very little that unites us in Canada what with the different languages spoken and different cultures that clash.
Has anyone got some serious thoughts on this that they want to share?
do you find anything "good" about Canada, let's think of something positive to talk about, what makes your good happy?
this is what Canadians have in common,we are always interested in others opinions,"good or bad".
give me your goodness davesmom,if you would "pretty please".

To Leave a home country with the purpose of becoming a Canadian, then a person must become a Canadian. will they lose some of their culture? Probably. A person needs to,accept that or they need to stay in their country of origin. What you are forgetting is that WE are not here in our Home country to change OUR culture for immigrants. That's what is happening due to exactly what you said "Freedom of speech and fundamental beliefs are tenets of OUR" society. This is Canada and no one should expect to become a citizen of this country without accepting our way of life. If you cannot live as we do in Canada, why would you want to be here? They want to be here to control this peaceful country we live in.
. They hear our lives are better so they come here but they want to live as they did. This is Canada and I don't want any people from any country to change it.
Just live as Canadians and we'll all get along just fine.
