Like a land locked 'country' has a hope in hell of being independent. Join the US just in time to help pay off the war they just lost. Brilliant move.

Venting: Cue the Western Canada separatist banshees

How is voting the Liberal party back in to power a vote for change? We’ve now taken a step back in time to a Liberal majority Government dominated by Eastern Canada MPs run by a guy with the last name Trudeau.

The Conservative Party loses power and returns to its regional roots. Cue the Western Canada separatist banshees.

‘Money’s cheap, let’s have a party. ‘Who knew Justin could speak Greek as well as French and English? Who knew so many Canadians would listen? Unfortunately, there won’t be any EU or Angela Merkel to bail us out in the decade ahead. Guess Justin’s Greek studies haven’t made it to that chapter yet.

I hope the PCs kept the receipts for the attack ads so they can be returned for a full refund. They obviously did not work as would be expected. It could have been because all candidates had great hair.

The Conservatives didn’t help their cause by hiring that Aussie to run their campaign, bringing the niqab and barbaric practices into the conversation. Canadians may not practice it but they sure don’t want to be seen siding with bigots and racists. Conservatives went to their Reform party roots, hatred and fear, while the Liberals offered honesty in budgeting and hope.

With another Liberal government set to take over, I fear for the future of our serving men and women. As a retired member of the Armed Forces, I watched as previous Liberal governments decimated our troops and now this group wants to open the doors to anyone without verifying their claims for admittance. God help us all.

Canadians have answered Harper’s slogan of Justin: ‘Just not ready’ with what could be ‘Justin time.’

Stupid, stupid Albertans. So out of touch with the rest of the country. Live and die by your federal conservative mentality. The ‘blue wave’ is isolated and dead and only two supporting provinces share the legacy of ignoring change. Now we all suffer for your ignorance. Shame on you.

Bye, bye, Canada. Up the republic (of Alberta).

Ms. Notley does not represent me. I am worried she does not represent Albertans first. Delaying the budget to protect the federal NDP in the election, Endorsing Tom Mulcair and not staying neutral? Bad form. I feel sold out. NDP first, Alberta second. We have made a poor choice folks.

Some Comments.

"Separation is the way to go. It's natural. Just as Canada left Great Britain, so too, should Western Canada grow up and leave behind its parent country Canada to chart its own course."

"Priceless: The looks on the faces on Eastern Canadians when they realize that Alberta won't be sending them anymore equalization welfare cheques."

"Robin Duke Western Canada needs to separate... get the Eastern Welfare Albatross off our necks."

Alberta doesn't mind helping those who are less fortunate, that is the difference in a nutshell between the east and the west, the east would erect a wall if they had the surplus.

So you basically just made the argument for why Alberta should split.. The East would tell us to screw off if we were a Have-Not-Province..

Well done MHz.

It was the reason they will stay dolt.
Do you not remember the rail cars that were only allowed to haul grain to the east, now it is grain and oil. Wait that would still have you in your original country as it was more than 30 years ago.

I have talked to a large number of people in Victoria the last few days
at an agriculture meetings and not one of them suggested leaving
Canada and I asked because of this series of topics. These are to
be sure known conservatives. everyone said only a spoiled child
would want to leave Canada because they didn't get what they wanted.
Elections come and go and people come and go

Actually I think it may have success as the is a lot of HATE for Trudeau in the west.. enough to spur serration movements.
Is there really? I think you are simply projecting your feelings.

Also, bilingualism is expensive in Alberta, maybe Alberta can get "a Country within a Country Status."
It is a ridiculous idea here too but that was the old man's deal, not Jr's.

Well I support the idea a bit... ;)

Quebec has all these "special' privileges, it would be nice to have each province have equal privileges.

Maybe pushing the same agenda as Quebec did will allow Alberta, and maybe other provinces to be wrestle more control away from Ottawa.

Look, I live here, in Alberta, and there is NO talk of secession. None, Nada, Nothing. It's in their dreams, and yours.

They ended up with British business acumen, American culture, and the French system of government."

Trudeau is a man. Not the country. When you separate you dont separate over one man who will be gone in the not too distant future.

Also, if Quebec couldnt manage to separate, there is no way in hell Alberta would be able to pull it off.

Alberta does not need Canada's money..

It is a ridiculous idea here too but that was the old man's deal, not Jr's.

And one no PM since Trudeau has even thought about changing, including Alberta's own Harper.

Quebec couldn't separate.. it's need to money from Canada..

Alberta does not need Canada's money..

It could have voted for separation. It didnt. They had two opportunities and the separatists failed both times. Had nothing to do with money.

If money is more important to a person than their country - well, they are a special kind of pond scum.
