Took a bit of time out to respond to your last post about stats and figures and reportage in general. My first bit of education from my father about the "events of the day" - was: "Let's take some time on this"..... and after a few days we would discuss it again....it never seemed to have the same impact, import, or even fear attached as the first clarion knee-jerk.
We can only rely on our initial reaction, give it some play time in our heads, try to avoid getting stomach ache, and in a few days the real assessment does surface whether in the original source outlet or in our own common sense.
All of this is done up close an personal now on our little window to the world...the internet.
I always think of nooz in those light bulb marquee signs on busy downtown streets clamouring and shouting for attention while we plod to work or home after a gruelling day..... our heads are hardly in a great place of intelligent "reception"....
