Back to the original question, there seems to be this idea that when one belongs to this religion they must put on some kind of moral and pious performance that elevates them above being a fragile, fallible, mistake prone human being. We're all hypocritical, selfish and morally bankrupt human beings at least in some small measure in our lives. Pretending to be more than that is to deny who you are. People just have to be themselves and stop trying to measure up to some fictitious expectation of them.
