I just blame Vista most of the time, and Windows Live OneCare. Sometimes when I restart, I can't connect at all, even though nothing has changed in my firewall settings, or network settings...Bastards!

I blame Bill Gates. He just likes to be feisty sometimes.:p:lol:

What about her personality though? The psycopath dosen't stay lots of fun for very long you know. Take it from me you'd end up hiding in the corner of a basement in the dark, terrified. On the outside they look very good but on the inside they are very ugly.:-|

Is anyone else following this internet outage story? It appears a 3rd undersea cable has been cut, and I've read elsewhere that Iran's internet is now 100% cut off... I can't find a reliable news source on whether Iran is or isn't completely off line though. All the google results I get are from what appear to be conspiracy theory focused sites... :?:

Good plan.... I'll give you the ex and stand back while you go a few rounds. She makes Brittany look sensible - as much drama just no pavarozzi. Guaranteed you'll be in a fetal position, tuggin' yer lip and makin' bubbly sounds in a week ... if she hasn't rendered you broke and reduced you to eyeballs and chatterin' teeth! LOL

Woof!

Well, CNN might be considered not reliable but here is the story when the first 2 went out.

And now, looks like 4
http://www.arabianbusiness.com/510132-internet-problems-continue-with-fourth-cable-break?ln=en

Hmm, quite the coincidence.

"Conspiracy Theroy Focused Sites" that's revealing thing to say Zan. The coincidence associated with four cable events has two avenues of understanding, conspiracy or an act of dog, no wait three possible avenues of study, conspiracy, act of dog or aliens, no wait four methods of elucidation, conspiracy, act of dog , aliens or Islamic Terrorists with submarines, no wait five possible solutions to the problem, conspiracy, act of dog, aliens, Islamic Terrorist, elves, there I think thats the only possible areas of reserch available to the inquiring student of modern world problems. Statisticly I think it's safe to assume conspiracy.

lol at all 4 - no wait - all 5 possibilities... but it would be nice to see a credible news link on this too... the other sites I've seen this mentioned are speculating why Iran has been taken off the public radar so to speak... with varying prophesies as to what Bush & Co are up to now... since these other sites are forums, I'd like some verification is all. So DB - got any? Verification, that is.

Verify by multiple perspectives, there are no credible mainstream news sources, all of them were long ago regulated even our beloved CBC has become thier mouthpiece. Look at the Balkans add Bushes limited time, which is the least of the pieces, add the coming market crash add Isreals desperation to eliminate all threats in the middle east and then add the Swiss banking cartel and GM seeds and a dozen other events and agendas and climatic and solar perturbations and viola Ka-Boom WWIII , Serbia, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iran straight as a pipeline. Sooner the bitter.
Turkeys already half privatized but it's military remains problematic I guess.

Pentagon: The internet needs to be dealt with as if it were an enemy "weapons system".

Information Operation Roadmap Part 3 The Pentagon's Information Operations Roadmap is blunt about the fact that an internet, with the potential for free speech, is in direct opposition to their goals. The internet needs to be dealt with as if it were an enemy "weapons system".

The 2003 Pentagon document entitled the Information Operation Roadmap was released to the public after a Freedom of Information Request by the National Security Archive at George Washington University in 2006. A detailed explanation of the major thrust of this document and the significance of information operations or information warfare was described by me here.

umm yes, I've seen similar posts on the subject already - and I'm not saying it isn't possible - in fact nothing much about how governments do their bizness behind the scenes would surprise me...but c'mon - an entire region appears to have their internet sabotaged and not a single news source follows up on what's going on? If we've reached the point where a story of that magnitude is able to be swept under the rug - leaving nothing but the conspiracy theorists to have full reign on the spin, then we all may as well stop watching the news altogether and just start making up our own. :-|

That's quite the link you just gave, Beav... it'll take me awhile to wade through it all, but I just read from a link there that there's been a fourth cable cut? 8O I cannot for the life of me understand why this is not being reported more widely.

Internet problems: Fourth cable break between Qatar and UAE

Posted: 2008/02/03
From: Source

Qatar Telecom (Qtel) said on Sunday the cable was damaged between the Qatari island of Haloul and the UAE island of Das on Friday.

by Dylan Bowman and AFP
(Arabian Business)

Internet services in Qatar have been seriously disrupted because of damage to an undersea telecoms cable linking the Gulf state to the UAE, the fourth such incident in less than a week.

Qatar Telecom (Qtel) said on Sunday the cable was damaged between the Qatari island of Haloul and the UAE island of Das on Friday.

The cause of damage is not yet known, but ArabianBusiness.com has been told unofficially the problem is related to the power system and not the result of a ship's anchor cutting the cable, as is thought to be the case in the other three incidents.

It is expected to take at least "a few days" to fix, according to one person with knowledge of the situation.

The damage caused major problems for internet users in Qatar over the weekend, but Qtel's loss of capacity has been kept below 40% thanks to what the telecom said was a large number of alternative routes for transmission.

It is not yet clear how badly telecom and internet services have been affected in the UAE. Etisalat is expected to release a statement on Monday.

Parts of the Gulf Arab region were plunged into a virtual internet blackout on Wednesday when two undersea cables were cut near Alexandria, on Egypt’s north coast.

The initial breaches were in segments of two intercontinental cables known as Sea-ME-We-4 and Flag Europe-Asia.

The situation was made worse on Friday when Flag, part of India's Reliance Communications, revealed a third cable, Falcon, had also been damaged off the UAE coast.

Etisalat said it does not use the Falcon cable and is therefore unaffected, but the UAE's second telco, Du, warned the damage could hamper its efforts to restore normal service to customers. Etisalat said it is helping Du minimise disruption.

Flag said a repair ship was expected to arrive at the location of the third damaged cable in the next few days, but bad weather has prevented the vessel from setting off from Abu Dhabi port.

The ship is now expected to depart Monday morning and the repairs should take five days.

The third cable is located 56 kilometres from Dubai on a segment between the UAE and Oman.

Etisalat said it had been informed by Flag Telecom, which operates one of the two damaged cables in the Mediterranean Sea, that the problem should be fixed in two weeks, while the operator of the other cable planned to carry out repairs on February 8.

Flag said on Saturday a ship should reach the cable repair ground by February 5.

Zan, you have a mind of your own, use it or loose it. The imformation included in the article I provided is solid, it is also a matter build on the history of stratigic and tactical warfare, there is nothing incredable about it. You are amazed by the the lack of coverage in the mainstream, don't be, there are so few people watching the world like this forum does, the peopl who study the modern world are truely insignifigant in number, so not playing the story of the internet on the mainstream does not surprise me at all it's the routine avoidance and obfuscation of news that I'm used to and for a very long time if you count history. The Congo has been washed out of the news for a very long time with an estimated death toll of ten million, offed by the money and power of western corporations Canada among them. Think think-tanks the shelters of conspiracy. All important considerations are made away from the eyes of the people, every last one of them. If you want the truth you'll have to rethink conspiracy, I had the same problem with letting go of the solidity of the main stream up front information highway, but in the end the reading did not conform with the seeing I either had to believe I was insane or that I was not. This is ,a brave new world ,you have to consider that you may be insane to believe the tale spinners of the mainstream. If you trust you're own sanity and examine as many perspectives as you can expose yourself to you will develope different discriminational criteria. There are legions of very good investigative jouralists in the alternative media and none in the main stream.

Now, wot would happen if the nice little complex in the SE U.S which houses all those lovely DNS servers were to be 'disrupted' like these cables. It may make the news... granted no one could see it due to the net being down but hey, at least it would be reported, right?

Ah crap, 'scuse me while I answer the door... it seems there are a couple of nasty looking men with black suits driving a black S.U.V. looking to talk *gulp*
