Where do you find these things?.

I especially like the one with Harper on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

That was you wasn't it?

McKenna said "no!".

I just watched Frank McKenna tell the media he definitely would NOT be running for leader of the Liberal Party of Canada.

So who is best now?

SO the top two front-runners aren't going to run.

But why did Mckenna resign?

So here are my choices;

Hedy Fry, that Scott Bryson guy and finally Mike Duffy.

Throughout the past election I could clearly see he favoured the Liberals. :wink:

Damn. I really liked McKenna. Lots of political/buisness experience at multiple levels and no ties to any of the federal liberal scandals.

I think his reasons for resigning were true. The position of ambassador is one of close ties to the PM...

Let's hope for Hedy Fry.... :)

While I think McKenna might have been the best man for the job, this may be better for the party. They will now have a real race, rather than a coronation.

That's too bad. I would have joint the Liberal Party just so I could vote for him. 8O

I was hearing from CBC that;

it could be Tobin, Dion, Stronach, Volpe, Ignatieff, Hedy Fry and about a dozen others.

With the exception of Brian Tobin, this group makes me want Martin back again. Can anyone imagine Prime minister Hedy Fry??

Tequila Shiela!

Betcha she makes a run at it. Her ego is just too big not to.

Dosanjh and Rae don't stand a chance. They won't pick a Liberal, and I can't imagine they'd pick Ignatief after what happened in Etobicoke and his statements on torture.

I think it will be Tobin.

I am listening to a Massey lecture by Ignatieff. I am definitely getting more interested in him as potential leadership material as I listen to him examine Canadian issues. He is very good at explaining the issues from different Canadian perspectives.

So there is at least one Candidate that I think I could vote for.

I think the leadership contest will be between Ken Dryden and Alan Rock as the 2 main contenders with strong showings by Dion and Cauchon and possibly a dozen others. I don't think Copps will run although i agree with a previous post about the size of her ego which makes her a definte contender, if for no other reason than to hear her own voice. All in all anyone could win especially if it is a drawn out campaign with the tories climboing in the polls towards a majority, then you could see the "C" team of potential leaders emerge while others like Dryden and Rock receeding because they don't want to wait 5 years to move into 24 Sussex.

I hope Ignatieff doesn't run and i shudder to think what would happen if he did. Don't get me wrong it's not that I find him too conservative that doesn't bother me. What does concern me is his less than permanent residency status in this country. I realise that he has been back and forth from Boston but, 30 years is a long time to be away and become used to and assimilated by others ideas and philosophies while loosing touch with what people think "down home" as a maritimer might say. Not that change and different perspectives are not good I just have a hard time believing that he has a vision for Canada, or a thorough understanding of what Canadians want. Of course he may have some years in opposition to correct these deficientcies.

Forgive my lack of decorum, but Alan Rock's greatest achievement has been NOT drooling on his shoes. The man is a complete idiot.

Ken Dryden is hardly an inspiration, if his great child-care plan is any indication.

And the last damn thing we need leading the country is some ivory tower intellectual from Harvard. Although he seems to be the best offered.

But, then again, I'm Mr. Right Wing.
