Pfft... as if.

You're still searching for the phantom briddish jaguar.

Canada and the US have REAL ones in abundance... you have photos of feral cats!

Again someone who doesn't know what they are talking about

Typical Sockeye gear-pic from the Great Run of 2010-does that hootchie look like a fish?

Dead Sockeye who fell to same Hootchie
In the water trailing behind the flasher you have shown yes it does .
Spent many moons on a commercial troller and seen lots more than a few sockeye .
Also spent time on commercial trawler and have seen the whole coast inside and out more than once .
So yes I know a little of what I talk about .
Nice socs by the way but we usually gut them head on .

You gutted them with the head on because they are sold by weight, if the guts left in would not spoil them there would be no removing the guts either.
Bill seems to think that because he has fished Sockeye in the Alberni inlet he knows all about them. Has anyone else caught them on 7 inch plugs while fishing Chinook? How about large Hoochies and Spoons?
Although they tend to eat mostly plankton they will take what they can get.

BTW, we saw more Pacific Cod in Georgia Strait summer before last than ever before, could not keep them off the hook in shallow water where before they tended to be deep, but few other than us fishermen noticed.

Your poor comprehension skills are betraying you yet again-I have never fished Sockeye in Alberni Inlet nor have I claimed to-Springs & Coho Yes but not Sockeye.

Occasionally an aggressive male will take a spoon or Anchovy or even a jig-7" plug that I have never seen.

It was the same this year and everyone on Sportfishingbc.com noticed-not that you'd know where the most popular fishing forum in BC is.

I thought Fishingwithrod was the most popular but it has been a few years since I paid attention to fishing web sites .
He did say he caught the socs in Georgia Straight during the 2010 monster return .

So those photos were not your Sockeye, or you got them east of Lasqueti perhaps, ok.
I have caught both sexes of Sockeye on Chinook gear, plus numerous on jigging gear.
Sportfishing BC is just a place to measure p*eckers.

You don't understand much do you?

I live in Vancouver those Sockeye were taken a 20 minute bike ride and a ten minute boat ride from my house-you've heard of the Fraser River haven't you?

Three years ago we had a monster return to the Fraser and that's where we were catching those Sockeye day after day after day Click Here to see the thread you missed

Tell me what you actually learned about fishing on the fishing forums. I was not expecting three year old photos or at least you explaining such. Living in Vancouver elevates you in some sense.......I lived next door to the Fraser in 1949 wiseass.

Check my Tuna report from this past September-a Big Shooter like you must have spent years on the Tuna so you can tell me all about how it's done.

I just keep checking back to this thread to see what people make of my comment that it would be weather related that so many would travel together at once.

I dunno, seems to me we never used to pay attention to these sorts of things the same way we do now.

In my fishing days I met the best fisherman on the coast at least 50 times . Funny they were all different people.
I did fish with a few really smart and accomplished captains and can understand that when a crew makes money their captain is the best .

Geezus you must have a really small phallus Billy Bob.
The only size that matters is the size of your wallet . The smallest worm can have the fattest robin with the right wallet .

Go west, other than that i can tell you nothing, nor do i want to if you are proudly part of the huge joke that is supposed to be a sportfishing forum.

You don't know what you're talking about and have no idea of the sheer mass of Herring extant Inside-hundreds & hundreds & hundreds of tonnes washing back & forth in Georgia Strait with the tides-when was the last time you looked @ the sounder on your boat when crossing the Strait?

You do have a boat don't you?

And FYI not all Salmon feed on Herring-Pinks, Chums and Sockeye for instance rarely take Herring preferring to feed on plankton & jellies.

Note that the Dolphins as shown usually are found north of Campbell River but come south from time to time especially September through March.

Arrogant and not very smart. Looking at the Squid on a sounder but calling them Herring. What makes you think that Herring are in such large supply that they cannot be harmed? Commercial fishermen have thought that way for a great many years, most know better now.
Pity you never saw the masses that i saw 60 years back.

The pump scow at Port Edward Nelson Brothers sunk from a set of herring . The seine was set off the scow amazing how full it was .

Here's another look @ much the same pod-posted especially for the old senior shut-ins here who haven't been in a boat since the 50's.

Dolphin superpod caught on video in Haro Strait, B.C. - British Columbia - CBC News

This has got to be one of the weirder pissing matches I've seen on CC.
There's a subtext to this-socioeconomic in nature.

A few crotchety old posters here are quite jealous because I have the contacts and the money to be able to regularly sportfish saltwater in BC-believe me it's not cheap the gas bill alone for one day's Tuna fishing was upward of $900-and that doesn't include ice, moorage or tackle.

Salmon isn't quite so steep but you still need to shell out and the retirees here don't have a hope of ever going anywhere or doing anything close to what I experience regularly-so the usual suspects piss and moan and crab and bitch about my posts and bore everyone stiff with the same old/same old about the Good Old Days back in another century (Note I'm not so young either I was fishing then too and it wasn't all that great).

I'd happily look over any photos they took with their Kodak Brownies or even Polaroids but it seems they lack the motivation- better to hide behind the keyboard and criticise than put up something of worth here-not much of a sense of humour either that might come from a lack of fresh air.

So I invite those who've taken issue with my success to share their photos with everyone.

Wow, thanks for such a thorough explanation Bill. Here I thought it was just because you're so condescending and rude when you attempt to 'share your wisdom' with people. I never realized it ran to deep seated jealousy.
