As a fan of both leagues, I do have to disagree with you there. Most players in CFL are here because they either never got the chance for NFL or didn't make the cut in the NFL. There are some here because their role here would be better in CFL than in NFL. But if you make NFL roster, the money is better and your career path is better so you would go there first.
Not every player who comes from NFL to CFL is a hit either. The game is different and there are a ton of QBs who were good in NFL and can't grasp CFL system or can't exceed at it.
I don't view this as a knock on CFL or NFL. They are different games, different rules and different entertainment. I like that they don't compete head to head except for playoffs so I can usually watch both.
I agree with your comments, IRBS.
I took umbrage at Eagle's slights against the CFL and responded in kind. He needn't have dragged the CFL into the conversation and having done so, he needn't have been so derisive.
It is a miracle how many people who never watch football have become football experts when it comes to Colin K.
Or have simply done the band-wagon thing when they heard it was the in-thing to do.
There is less interest at high school level due to concussion issues. It's not just the NFL but the high school, college games that go before it. There is nothing different from a concussion in high school vs on NFL field. Actually, in NFL you probably have better equipment so you might have a better shot at minimizing the damage. But no helmet is perfect yet.
This is true, there are discussions going on in all our leagues at all levels about CTE. The more I read about the latest evidence, the more I realize the sport I love could well be on its way out. I wonder if touch football could someday instill the same passion for the game.
Pity you don't feel the same passion for your league as I do for mine.
You know it does!

Whatever, Eagle. That photo is typical of .............oh forget it............you would never understand.
