A lot of people on this forum have to remember sometimes "Shit happens" where no one is to blame!
On the OTHER HAND we also NEED to recall that LIE-berals PREFER IT when we have SHORT MEMORIES! Thus LIE-berals SEEK TO ESCAPE FAIR AND HONEST BLAME!
Here is an article offering a grim look into the future unless Red China alters its ways - and or unless western LIE-berals finally put together a COHERENT PLAN to deal with Chinese issues and future Pandemics! With some comments of my own in brackets):
'Worse' pandemic on horizon unless world deals with wildlife markets

The continued existence of wildlife markets, which are considered potential breeding grounds for the spread of harmful viruses, means it's just a matter of time before the world is hit with another deadly pandemic, some scientists suggest.
"If we do not deal with this, there is nothing to say that we could not in eighteen months' time have another outbreak, and it could be worse," said Kerry Bowman, an assistant professor and bioethicist at the University of Toronto's Dalla Lana School of Public Health.
(We need to recall that in autumn 2019, Beijing got in a snit over the arrest of Huawei CEO MENG and banned the importation of Cdn Pork - as a spiteful punishment - which apparently prompted a spike in the number of Chinese eating “bush meat” from “wet markets” - with the MSN.CA HOME PAGE even displaying a photo of a Wuhan woman in a restaurant EATING a boiled Fruit Bat!)
(Subsequently the Wuhan Virus appeared in the human population and we also learned that Wuhan Fruit Bats CARRY the Pandemic Virus! The relationship between Chinese military and political schemes - and Wuhan infection is CLEAR!)
(The ugly fact is that if China spent less on weapons with which to threaten the world - they would have more money for buying better quality food! We also should recall that SARS and Bird Flue came from the same “wet market” sources as Wuhan Virus! And that Swine Flue came about as a result of over crowding and unsanitary practices on China as well!)
(In other news - the number of Chinese products sold to the West that happen to be contaminated with things like Bisphenyl A and with toxic metals like Lead and Antimony is common knowledge! The point is that our Soviet Socialist minded LIE-beral govts CONTINUE to pussy foot around belligerent Beijing Butchers while Beijing EXPORTS TOXIC PRODUCTS for fun and profit! We should also recall that Cdn govt has recently cut down over 10 million Ash trees as a result of infestation by the Emerald Ash Borer insect that came to North America as a result of Chinese REFUSAL to fumigate or carefully dry lumber it was using to make shipping crates!)
(The insects hitched a ride in those Chinese crates and made a MESS of millions of trees here! WE KNOW that if an oil company had killed 10 million trees - LIE-berals would be RAGING! But Soviet Socialist Beijing Butchers GET A PASS from Our idiot Boy and his loser LIE-berals!)
(We cannot ORDER China to be more responsible with its food supply AND we SHOULD respond much more swiftly to ANY question about any sort of health problem being exported out of China! If they want to eat potentially diseased meat and spend more money on weapons it is their biz- but we should NOT be helping them pay for it!)
Scientists believe the novel coronavirus that causes the disease COVID-19 emerged from one of these wildlife markets — also known as "wet markets" — in the Chinese city of Wuhan, possibly through an infected bat.
Bats are just one of the animals that are sold at these markets, where customers come to purchase domestic livestock and wildlife, including pigs, chickens, civet cats, bamboo rats, porcupines and pangolins.
But Bowman said shutting down such markets may prove extremely challenging, as these cultural practices date back thousands of years and have become part of a multi-billion-dollar global industry.
(It is HARD to imagine that a bony boiled Fruit Bat would be more appetizing than a pulled Pork sandwich? How much of the Chinese diet is driven by COST alone?)
Bowman said the main concern with these markets is a spillover event, when viruses transfer from one species to another and then cross over to humans.
(As we know - the AIDS virus is carried by Chimpanzees who are not harmed by it - but by eating “bush meat” - humans ingested the AIDS Virus - and the diet of Ugandans during the Idi Amin dictatorship was so bad that AIDS was able to colonize humanity! Bush meat is CLEARLY a serious disease source! Since so many species carry Viruses that do not hurt them but DO hurt humans - the E-coli Virus carried by cows that were at the heart of the Walkerton Ont “water tragedy” comes to mind as well!)
On very rare occasions, humans will transmit that virus from one person to another, which is what occurred with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and, by all indications, is happening with COVID-19.
"Mathematically, this is not a common occurrence. But if you actually wanted to create a laboratory-like experiment to design the conditions for a spillover event, you would create the kind of wildlife market that you have in China," Bowman said.
(Ait travel MAKES SURE that such events are much LESS RARE than they used to be - we have only to think of how EBOLA came close to getting into populations OUTSIDE Africa! Ebola has been know for many centuries but ONLY modern methods of travelling swiftly enabled it to become a potential threat outside central Africa!)
In a recent video message about COVID-19, famed primatologist Jane Goodall warned that the close relationship between people and wild animals in these markets "has unleashed the terror and misery of new viruses."
SARS may have spread to humans through wild mammals. The Ebola epidemics in west and central Africa are thought to have originated from bats, while Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) is suspected to have come from camels.
All of these infected animals were in wildlife markets, where every day millions of people around the world still get their food. Not just in China
Bowman emphasized that China is not the only culprit, nor is Asia "the only continent in the world that has this challenge."
"But it's particularly tenacious in the Far East, and extends into Vietnam, a lot of Southeast Asia, Indonesia," he said.
(The issue is especially sharp for China as it ramps up its military spending far more than any of its neighbours - in exactly the sort of way that was done in Imperial Japan in the 20th century! Beijing Butchers are locked into a 19th century dream of Power and Empire - while struggling to pay for 21st century nuclear weapons and aircraft carriers and assorted economic food related disasters!)
Civet cats wait for food at a farm in Liuan, China.
In February, China announced a ban on the trade and consumption of wild animals. But it also imposed tough restrictions following the SARS outbreak in 2003, only to see the industry slowly re-emerge. Many environmentalists say such bans contain loopholes.
(As we saw during the Chinese SCANDAL over Melamine added to milk and other Chinse dairy products that KILLED thousands of Chinese babies - corruption seems to be on its way to reaching its own Pandemic level in China!)
The selling of wild animals accounts for "a significant portion of the economy. And it has created an economic opportunity for a lot of people," Bowman said.
(Many of these “wild” animals are actually being FARMED though maybe we should ask if it would not be SAFER to confine Chinese farmers to raising conventional domestic animals such as cows, pigs, chickens and ducks since we have had such a LONG and safer exposure to them! Otherwise -as the doctors note- we WILL end up facing MORE weird Pandemics originating in bush meat!)
There are different estimates, but Bowman said the size of the global wildlife trade is pegged at somewhere between $7 billion to $23 billion US a year.
Bowman, who conducts research on this issue, said when he last visited a market in Wuhan, he counted 57 species of animals, about two-thirds of them wild, mostly of Asian origin. Cages were stacked on top of each other, in unsanitary conditions.
He said operators had "high-powered hoses that are blasting around urine, feces, blood from one cage to another to another to another."
(In other words a typical Chinese wet market is a PERFECT breeding ground for all manner if disease! Our health will suffer if we do not create effective ways to separate ourselves SWIFTLY from future Pandemics! Vote hungry Socialist minded LIE-beral politicians CANNOT be trusted to protect us from Chinese Pandemics!)
(China has repeatedly proven that its standard of production of everything from Milk to meat to children`s toys DOES NOT meet the Western standard!)
In terms of the general concepts of infectious diseases, wildlife markets are "a perfect opportunity for the mixing of bacteria and viruses as well as transmission to other groups," said Jason Stull, assistant professor at the University of Prince Edward Island's Atlantic Veterinary College.
Not only that, but stress and malnutrition reduce the immune system of animals and potentially exacerbate this problem, Stull said. For example, an animal under duress may be more likely to shed higher amounts of virus.
"All of these things likely can contribute to movement back and forth of diseases," Stull said.
(There is the expert Cdn condemnation of wet market methods! And it is proof that WE NEED mechanisms that can swiftly separate us from foreign born problems! The Wuhan Virus has PROVED - the cost of a major Pandemic is HUGE and it is NOT irrational nor racist to think of ways of preventing another such disaster - in spite of the grossly self serving platitudes LIE-berals throw at us!)
