A DNA study of Britons has shown that, genetically, there is not a unique Celtic group of people in the UK.

According to the data, those of "Celtic" ancestry in Scotland and Cornwall are more similar to the English than they are to other Celtic groups.

The Scots, Welsh and Irish being "Celtic" is nothing more than a myth invented by 18th Century Scottish, Welsh and Irish nationalists and there is no evidence to suggest they are in any way related to the true Celts of mainland Europe

The fact is that the vast majority of Britons share the same lineage. Around 80% of people living in the British Isles are descended from the indigenous European Palaeolithic hunter gatherer population.
Basically like the hillbillies of North America?? Incest when it is done in America, Nation building when the UK does the same thing. Do you know how many ways that is a stupid way to get along in a global environment???

Celts never existed.

Whether the Celts actually saw themselves as one Celtic race is still debated as is their exact geographical spread, but especially in regards as to whether the Iron Age inhabitants of Britain and Ireland should be regarded as Celts.

If they should be, then the English are just as Celtic as Scots, Welsh, Northern Irish and Irish.

As for "indigenous Europeans", these are people such as the Sami of Scandinavia. They are like Europe's Eskimos.

I guess he is unaware that the determination is to be made by 'others' rather than pinning that medal on yourself because you think you deserve it. Just thought you should know that.

How to glorify a bunch of needless graveyards would be the general spin rather than everybody we meet ends up in a grave.

I have one more concern that arrogant Brits might address. Why should Shakespeare be taught in the schools? It leads to virtually no jobs with the possible exception of school teachers and professors! The f**ker is a piss poor speller and his grammar is atrocious!

There's nothing ignorant about me. I consider myself to he fairly knowledgeable on a wide range of issues.

As for China it's an awful place with awful people and awful food and I have no intention of going there intentionally anytime soon.

Your second paragraph belies your first paragraph.

There have been many major innovations in history; but for the modern innovations: I think the second half of the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century (1850-1950) may be the greatest period of modern innovations.

I never once said Celt. Your words not mine, Fritz.

DNA, the science, could not possibly have done what BlackLeaf contents, I usually agree with his perspective but I feel so strongly opposed to his perspective, this time only, I thought I would step forward and defend common sence. Perhaps he's drinking this evening, it is very late in the Isles.

The discovery of tin. see Wales, ancient trade routes, furnace of developement etc , you gotta have sumthin that will hold an edge
That was still only an improvement over a rock of 1lb or heavier, Using a rock (or sword) to get what your mouth cant get would be a change that was trend setting and still in vogue today.
