The CBC does a good job for all Canadians like any other outlet it has its flaws but it better
than some of the others. If we want something to go away get rid of Global, and if possible
smother Sun Media before it multiplies. CBC CTV Global are at least credible outlets
and qualify as genuine news outlets while Sun is a Fox North.
Fox and its northern cousin remind me of my fathers saying about something with substance.

Its a bit like sheering a pig, there is a whole lot of noise and no wool.

Any model should be robust enough that the situation doesn't matter. Whether it's investments in government agencies that produce economic benefits, or investments in corporations and private businesses that produce economic gains, why kill an investment which produces more economic activity? That defies logic.

By the way, it's not that CBC pays for itself, it's what CBC is able to do with the subsidy they get, value added.

For the same reason others are forced to pay for public facilities that you use and others don't. Unless you live in a cave almost certainly you are making use of some public facility on a daily or weekly basis that not everyone uses but everyone pays for. Roads, airports, sporting and recreational facilities, schools, museums, parks, and hospitals are a few examples of such facilities.
