Actually, the average wage in 1978 was $10,556.03, and in 2013 it was $44,888.16.

I'll let you do the math for yourself.
Perhaps that is not the actual dollar value. In the 60s I was making $44 a week and I had more buying power than I do today. Take into account inflation and the chart makes more sense, even if it is not completely accurate.

Right. The wage growth is "adjusted for inflation" and the cost growth is not.

Not completely accurate? How about "deliberately misleading?"

Repeating lies is the same thing as lying, Cliffy.

Since when is a libtard concerned with accuracy?

Let's face it: America is a crappy place to live. Boring and violent and bland, with less culture than a sterile yoghurt pot.

So how many U.S. states have you spent time in and for how long? Wouldn't "boring" and "violent" be oxy morons? Who in his/her right mind eats yogurt?

I suppose there is one major difference from Canada. With ten times the population they can't keep up to Canada in the Pan Am Games! :) :) :) :)

OWNED!

Completely.

Let's face it. Most American states serve no useful function whatsoever and are nothing but sparsely-populated wastelands with the population of Sheffield. This is something many people forget. The vast majority of America is tedious. Take away California, Texas, New York and Florida and what are you left with? The likes of South Dakota, Idaho and Kansas. They are pointless political entities. You even have to have weird attractions at your roadsides, like the world's biggest rubber band ball or a car stood on its end in a ditch and covered in graffiti, to liven up your tedious roadside landscapes. You could drive for hundreds of miles and see nothing.

America very bland and boring compared to other countries? (interstate, highway, racist) - Great Debates - City-Data Forum

Why do you persist in showing your crass ignorance? Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Colorado are beautiful states. Nevada is the world capital for entertainment. I could go on and on but it would be a waste of time with you and besides I'm not even an American.

And they're completely and utterly boring. What the hell is there in Idaho? Nothing but desert and rock and little much else. It's completely pointless.

Nevada is the world capital for entertainment.
Absolute poppycock. Nevada is nothing but a desert. It's slightly bigger than the UK with a population a third that of London. There are millions more places around the world I'd either want to live or to visit on holiday than Nevada. Nevada is one of those empty wasteland states that serve almost no useful function. The only reason why it's a part of America today is because the Yanks nicked it from the Mexicans.

The US has surpassed Canada in medals including gold. Good for them.

I think he was "pulling your chain" there Blackie. :)

With 9 times the population to draw from is that surprising?

Don't worry. You'll probably finish with more medals than the Yanks on a per capita basis, like Britain did at London 2012 and many other Olympics.
