Watching the rehash of the Trump "press conference" and wondering how the heck this buffoon got elected His immaturity, and self centered ness is the focus of this event as it is on most things "TrmP. His ATTITUDE is as big as his ego.. and his focus on HIMSELF and how wonderful he is..is nauseating to be polite. His petulance for a person in his position is deplorable.

Now touching in on the hearings. . and glad to see some very tough questions are being asked.

No one can say that e
the current situation is "boring"..

It's not his fault the media are making up nasty lies about him in order to smear him. Such dirty trick smear campaigns are also common in the British media when it comes to Mr Farage and Ukip.

Sword, Musket and Machine Gun: Britain's Armed History

Episode 1: Cut & Thrust

In the first of this three-part series, Dr Sam Willis charts the evolution of weaponry in Britain throughout the Middle Ages.

Beginning with the Battle of Ethandun in 878, when the future of Anglo-Saxon England lay in the balance, Sam examines the weapons and tactics used by King Alfred to keep the Viking raiders at bay, and gets hands-on experience as he joins re-enactors behind a shield-wall, used by the Anglo-Saxons en masse as an attacking weapon to drive back and defeat the Vikings.

Sam travels to France to examine the famous Bayeux Tapestry, with its depiction of the huge arsenal massed by William the Conqueror for his invasion of England in 1066. With the Norman mounted knight came innovations in weapon technology, chiefly stronger and lighter swords, and Sam is given a lesson in swordsmanship using the earliest known combat manual.

Sam also visits the Chateaux de Tancarville in Normandy to tell the story of William Marshal, said to be the greatest knight who ever lived, and how he forged his reputation using a new weapon - the lance - in the extreme sport of its day, the tourney. To get a real sense of the tourney, Sam watches a display of its later incarnation - the joust.

The increasing number of castles and sieges brought with it a new age of projectile missile weaponry, principally the crossbow. Holed up in a castle tower, Sam gets to test-fire different crossbows and discovers why they became outlawed by the Pope as instruments of the devil. Visiting the battlefield sites of Halidon Hill in Northumberland and Crecy in northern France, and again getting hands-on with the weapon in question, Sam examines how King Edward III strategically deployed the traditional longbow in vast numbers to devastating effect against the Scots and the French, and as such how it came to be regarded as the chief weapon of the Middle Ages.

Watching Knowldege network . Love the nature programs on there. and the documentaries.

.Trump is the author of his own media. The media does not HAVE to make up stuff abouthim..as he creates enoghg fodder for the media to report without anyfabrication. One cannot call his so called press conference an act of class , dignity or sophistication and intelligence. He acted like a overgrown two yr old having a temper tantrum . He has a problem with FACTS. as does his tam. There is no need for him to act like a two yr old bully ...he won......even if the win is highly suspect..to any OBJECTIVE observer. He does not wantto do it his way as in blazing a new trail...he wants to control everything and hear nothing but praise ..as he cannot tolerate any negative feedback. Too immature. Even his picks for staff are not on the same page as him. as he makes no sense about some things..and is so biased and reactionary.it is scary .He is the only pres elect going into his inauguration with a dark cloud of lawsuits, indescretions, (with woe-men) financial challenges and total inexperience ...and that has to make folks at least a bit uncomfortable. Except of course for the die hard Trump cult. who would blindly defend him even-if committed mass murder .and find nexuses for him But they got what they wanted. Hope they can live wit hitThe blame lies onthe dems who didn't bother to vote when all that leak stuff started to happen right near the election date itself.. But it is what it is.

Britain's Ancient Capital: Secrets of Orkney

Episode 1

Orkney - seven miles off the northern coast of mainland Scotland and cut off by the tumultuous Pentland Firth, the fastest flowing tidal race in Europe - is often viewed as being remote. But recent discoveries there are turning the stone age map of Britain upside down. Rather than an outpost at the edge of the world, recent finds suggest an extraordinary theory - that Orkney was the cultural capital of our ancient world and the origin of the stone circle cult which culminated in Stonehenge.

In this three-part series, historian Neil Oliver, naturalist Chris Packham, adventurer Andy Torbet and mechanical engineer Dr Shini Somara join hundreds of archaeologists from around the world who have gathered there to investigate at one of Europe's biggest digs.

Chris Packham uncovers the secrets revealed by the DNA of Orkney's unique vole, Neil Oliver explores Orkney's tombs and monuments, Dr Shini Somara experiments to discover how the Orcadians could have moved giant blocks of stone over rough ground and archaeological adventurer Andy Torbet climbs Orkney's most challenging sea-stack to unlock the story of Orkney's unusual geology.

Episode 2

Orkney - seven miles off the north coast of mainland Scotland, and cut off by the tumultuous Pentland Firth, the fastest-flowing tidal race in Europe - is often viewed as being remote. However, it is one of the treasure troves of archaeology in Britain, and recent discoveries there are turning the Stone Age map of Britain upside down. Rather than an outpost at the edge of the world, recent finds suggest an extraordinary theory - that Orkney was the cultural capital of our ancient world and the origin of the stone circle cult which culminated in Stonehenge.

In the second of this three-part series, Neil Oliver, Chris Packham, Andy Torbet and Dr Shini Somara join hundreds of archaeologists from around the world who have gathered there to investigate at one of Europe's biggest digs.

This week, Andy Torbet and some local seafaring volunteers build a boat made of just willow and cow hide and set out to cross the dangerous Pentland Firth as the ancient Orcadians would have done. Neil Oliver investigates the extraordinary discovery of some human bones, Chris Packham goes in search of whales and Shini Somara uncovers the powers of the tides.

2017 Dafabet Masters

I watched the fantastic match - which had it all, including broken cue tips - live on BBC Two between the great Ronnie O'Sullivan of England and Marco Fu of Hong Kong in the semi-final (last four) of snooker's 2017 Dafabet Masters at Alexandra Palace in London. O'Sullivan, one of the greatest players in the history of the game, is the tournament's defending champion.
