I think we saw that during the 1950's and 1960's when France backed them. In answer to your question. Just as polite as they are today, no difference.

The only thing Americans should know about Israel is when will Israel pepper Iranian nuclear facilities with a bit of the same what Iran wants to do - first with Israel, and then with the Great Satan, the United States.

And then give Israel total support.
