Thank God for wind turbines.

They've saved Ontario and hopefully they save the rest of the country.

Clearly, you have not read this:

http://docs.wind-watch.org/BENTEK-How-Less-Became-More.pdf

This report, sponsored by the Independent Producers Association of Mountain States,
concludes that the emissions benefits of renewable energy are not being realized as planned
based on examination of four years of Public Service Company of Colorado

He did crack?
So no reply as to how wind turbines saved Ontario? C'mon dude, you made a pretty bold statement there without facts or details to back it up. I'd really like to hear why you believe wind turbines saved Ontario. There's certainly mountains of evidence to the contrary. Do you maybe have some information the rest of us aren't privy to for some reason? Some stats, or data? Anything at all other than your unsubstantiated opinion?

It's a long term investment.

A shallow mind like yours wouldn't understand that.

Nice dodge. Translation: You shot off your big mouth with no evidence to back up your claim so you're going to double down on your dumbassery.

You said, "turbines saved Ontario", then you back that stupid claim up with "it's a along term investment." Well, if it's a long term investment, then how can you claim turbines saved Ontario if that investment hasn't been actualized yet? Do you understand the difference? You made a positive statement referring to the NOW but your "explanation" that it's a "long term investment" refers to the future. Are you clairvoyant or something? No, you can't be. You couldn't predict 5:00 at 4:55.

C'mon smart guy. Tell us how the province was saved by wind turbines. You made the claim, now let's see your proof of that. Let's see some stats, data, ANYTHING. Show us how wind turbines have reduced GHGs by any amount at all in Ontario. You can't because they didn't.
If you haven't got proof and it's just your opinion, then at least have the balls to admit it.

Won't somebody think about the poor rustbelters in Canada?

Where's our golden saviour?

We're ready for killing off of coal: SaskPower CEO

Nova Scotia was the only province to be exempt from Ottawa's plan to phase coal out by 2030. According to Mike Marsh, president and CEO of SaskPower, his company, which runs three coal-fired plants, will be ready for that deadline. He also adds that an equivalency deal would be welcome and would help the company.

We're ready for killing off of coal: SaskPower CEO - Video - BNN

I think about those you call the "rustbelters in Canada". I just think about
them with a different perspective than you do. I see them as the people
who will have to support Canada in the hole that she's digging for herself
right now and as of late. If you know they will have to save the country, then
why in Hell would the country try to hamstring them at the very same time?

I too watched the video in the link above, but I think you & I watched two very
different videos, or took two very different impressions from the same one.

Isn't that a mouthful and it opens such a can of worms. I'm going to assume
that you're a relatively bright individual and are just trolling with misinformation
in search of a reaction. The reality is that chunk of Canada that swings between
the legs of Huron & Erie is in a very bad state.

It used to be a magnet for industry with a large and concentrated population, along
with relatively inexpensive electricity from Hydro (I'm thinking Niagara Falls). Now
it's a large & concentrated population with the highest electrical rates on the
continent, and industry is running away like its hair is on fire, and the Niagara
basin has a green drip (about where Detroit lies) that makes industry cringe
and look away.

Wind turbines saving Ontario? Please....enough. I know you're not that dumb &
thus are just trolling. The same goes for solar with it's need (just like wind turbines)
for back up generation as you already know. Those that don't know though might
swallow your bait though and become the next generation of anti-vaccination
cheer leaders out of ignorance and your misinformation.

IMO, Mentalfloss's trolling is good for attracting more posts from the regular members....but it is harming our ability to attract interest from google searches.

Just imagine that you are searching for info on a specific topic, instead you find a forum that is discussing it, but unfortunately the discussion was ruined when the OP salted the post with enough irrational information that the subsequent responses are bogged down in text that has little relevance to the actual issue.

Still waiting for your proof there Flosstradamus. I mean other than your silly prognostications claiming that some long term investment that may or may not pay off, saved Ontario today.
I mean c'mon Flossie, you say these things like they're self-evident truths or something and yet provide zero evidence, data or stats to at least try and lend some credibility to your rather specious claims. And uh, govt proclamations are not proof.
Here, I'll even start you off with an easy one. By how much have the wind farms reduced GHGs from energy generation in Ontario?

Still pussing out, eh mentalflush? Here puss puss. Come and tell us how wind power supposedly saved Ontario. One would like to think that after a week you could at least come up with something to back up your claim.
I guess it's safe to say that your claim was based on nothing more than personal feelings and ideological spoon feeding since you refuse to rise to the challenge. Or maybe you just don't like having your bullsh*t beliefs and opinions questioned because deep down, you know you haven't got any solid ground to stand on.

Wow dude, responding to all kinds of threads except this one. I wonder why you're trying so hard to avoid it.

Great point, JB. I used to see CC come up quite a bit during my searches, now not so much.

Sadly, I doubt that we will see any change in behavior from the perp - it appears that he is a serial troll. I rarely confront him. I leave so many threads in which I have considerable interest simply because I see them descending into the same old personal attacks and inanity. It is disheartening.

That must be grueling.
